Blog Tour and Giveaway: Unexpected by Dulaney-Glen

~ Synopsis ~

Ian wasn't ready to meet Grace Holtsen. In no way was he prepared for her. But can you ever be ready for fate to step in? Can you ever be ready to meet the one person who will change your entire existence? Ian knew that Grace would change everything he was used to, but something about her made it worth it. For the first time somebody seemed worth the risk. Will Ian jump and let fate wait for him at the bottom? Hoping that it can somehow save him...hoping that Grace can somehow save him.

I don't think Grace is like most girls.
Maybe that's the thing that I can't put my finger on.
Maybe for the first time, I've met a girl that's unlike
anyone that I've ever known.

Grace, a single mother and owner of a Nashville recording company, met Ian Paul, a recent college grad and her new employee. The moment he entered her world, it turned upside down. She knew better than anyone that a relationship with Ian would never work. He was never supposed to fit into her life, and she was never supposed to show up in his. But what happened between them was something more than either of them ever anticipated. Grace was unprepared for how bad it would hurt when they were faced with something far more unexpected.

He stole the rest of my heart tonight. I
know that no matter what happens tomorrow, or days from
now, I’ll never want it back.
I could never give it to someone else.

I whip my car into the station and see one of the attendants standing next to the pumps waiting.

I roll down my window and watch him approach.

Just as he gets there, my cell phone rings. I dig the money out of my wallet and turn to him,

Twenty…premium, please.”

I lift my phone to my ear just as I catch a glimpse of the attendant walking away.

“Hey heart breaker, you there?” Nina chimes.

“Yeah, I’m here. What’s up?” In my rear view mirror, I try to get another look at this guy.  He's

tall and perfectly built with short, dark hair.

He's gorgeous. I get lost in that until Nina asks, “You at The Quickie?

“Um…yeah. Why?”

“Is Weed there?”

“Weed?”

“You know, that young college guy that works there weeknights.”

Weed? College guy? I'm not sure who she's talking about until she clarifies with the only way

you can truly describe this man. “You know the guy with the handle bar mustache that wears

the Chicago Bulls jersey all the time.”

“Nina, his name is Reed.”

“To you he’s Reed, to me, his customer, he’s known as Weed.”

“I don’t see Weed-Reed. It’s some new guy.”

“Does he have a mustache? Do you know what he sells?”

“From the looks of him he could sell me anything and I’d buy it.” I look in my side mirror to

sneak another glance at green eyes but I pull away quickly when I see him staring back at me.

“That hot?” she asks.

“Yeah. That hot.”

“I gotta see this for myself.”

Silence

“Nina? Hello?”

Next thing I know, I hear the sound of a moped horn and Nina is pulling up next to me.

“What are doing?” I yell out my window at her.

She takes off her turtle shell helmet and smiles over at me, “We are on a dick-free vow

remember? If I can't get any I'll be damned if I'm going to sit by and let you get ya freak on with

some gas attendant,” she hisses. “Oh and I need gas. I had to Flintstone it the last mile here.”

I pull over to the side parking area where I slump down into my seat from embarrassment. I

watch in horror as she practically picks up her moped and settles it next to the attendant. The

look on his face is priceless.

I hear the conversation start, “What’s your name,” she asks. Her voice lowers and I know from

here on out it's going to be a shameless flirt session.

He replies with a deep southern accent, “Ian.”

“Well hello there.” She pauses, “Do you know Weed?”

I've yet to figure out her obsession with this guy. She talks about him constantly.

Ian laughs and shakes his head as Nina crawls off her moped and pulls off her seat, “Put five

regular in it and please be careful putting your nozzle in my small tank. I don’t like drippage,”

she declares.

I see Ian double over laughing. He's a good sport because I hear him say, “How’s this?” As he

slowly places the nozzle in her gas tank.

She puts her hand on his back, “You’re really good at this. How long have you been pumping?”

A slow smile crosses his face, “Actually I don’t work here.”

Well, that's embarrassing. Why the hell was he standing next to the pumps if he doesn't work

here?

“And just where do you work?” Nina prods.

“Willow Tree Records.” It's like he’s speaking in slow motion and I see an evil grin spreading

across Nina's face.

We just let one of my employees pump our gas.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Tragically Flawed by A.m. Hargrove

~ Synopsis ~

Riviera Benson has a talent...one she discovered by accident. She’s a painter, but canvas isn’t her medium. She creates her lovely masterpieces on walls and ceilings of million dollar homes as murals and faux finishes. Her art is in high demand now, but life wasn’t always that way. Riviera has secrets from her past she intends to keep tightly locked away...terrifying secrets that keep her awake at night...that prevent her from getting close to anyone...anyone that is, until she meets Shan.

Benjamin Shandon, owner of Shandon Homes, works like a thousand demons are chasing him...because perhaps they are. His business has boomed, ever since the forest fire swept through the canyon and destroyed hundreds of million dollar homes. He demands excellence in everything...from his employees to his women. He slows down for nothing, keeping a schedule that no sane person would want. But Riviera interrupts everything, twisting his guts inside out, and wedging her way into his heart, destroying a promise he made to himself.

Will they let their pasts control their future, or will they decide to let go and allow their hearts to discover each other’s?

This book contains mature content and is not intended for younger readers.

~ Our Review ~
5 Star Review by Heather

This book is really good. It has some hard subject matter.

Riviera is struggling with living a normal life. She didn't have a normal childhood. She had druggy parents and lived in a commune. She ran away at sixteen to try and better her life. A couple years later she thought she found the man of her dreams, Jasper. Little did she know he was not the person she thought he was.

Shan is married to his work. He has no interest in getting involved with woman. They just cause problems. So when he meets Riviera he is shocked about his desire for her. No woman has caught his eye the way she has. He is a perfectionist. He expects all his workers to perform to the highest standards. So he is intimidating to Riviera. He has to learn to make her trust him before they can persue a relationship.

This journey Shan and Riv go on is amazing. It leaves you wanting more and you won't want to put this book down. I love the mystery in this book. I really enjoyed this book!! This is a must read book. A.m. Hargrove is becoming one of my go to authors when I need a good book!!

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life.  So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase.  Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodge ball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head.  Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what laptop out the window.  She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone, called her boss and quit her job.  Grinning, she made another call to her hubs and told him of her new adventure (after making sure his heart was beating properly again).

So began A. M. Hargrove's career as a YA/NA and Adult Romance writer. Her books include the following: Edge of Disaster, Shattered Edge and Kissing Fire (The Edge Series); The Guardians of Vesturon series (Survival, Resurrection, Determinant, reEmergent and Beginnings); Dark Waltz and Tragically Flawed.

Other than being in love with writing about being in love, she loves chocolate, ice cream and coffee and is positive they should be added as part of the USDA food groups.

4.5 Star Review by Annie

Note: If you have not read Connected, stop everything you are doing. Put the kids to bed, tell the husband to go away and read it NOW! You will not be disappointed.
Torn will give any soap opera a run for their money. He was dead, then he was alive, she loved him, he loved her, but then another guy loved her too…..It was like WTF. My head is spinning. Way too much drama, but in the end we FINALLY get to have our happily ever after moment, but with who? I guess you will have to read it to find out!
At the end of Connected I was pissed off. How could we be left in such suspense and despair? Everything the whole book was about came crashing down around us. It was all based on lies, and one hell of a plot twist!
Torn starts off right where we were left in Connected.  Dahl was finally getting her life together with River, the sexy hot rock god. That is until Ben, her DEAD fiancé pops back up. I don’t mean like a zombie, I mean like alive/faked death/new identity.  Secrets come out and lies are finally revealed. Dahl, River and Ben all have to figure out where they go from here.  This leaves Dahl torn in two by her past and her present.  Does she go with River, the love of her life or Ben, her first love?

I love River, I mean HELLO you would have to be blind, dumb and crazy not to. He is sexy and everything about him screams sex appeal. HOLY WET PANTIES!  To me he makes the book.  While Ben on the other hand, just doesn’t sit well with me. He made a bad decision at the beginning, and that is where my hatred for him started. I just could not get myself to like his character. I tried, Lord knows I tried.
Kim Karr did an amazing job with this book. This book had an amazing soundtrack that constantly played in my head as I read this book. I loved the alternating POV, but at times it did seem a little slow paced. I cannot wait for Mended , where we get Zander and Ivy’s story.  I give this book 4.5 Stars.

~ About the Author ~

I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I've always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.

I wear a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of the family. However, I always find time to read. One of my favorite family outings use to be taking my kids to the bookstore or the library. Today, my oldest child is in college and my twins are juniors so they no longer go with me on these outings. And although I don't need to go to the actual store anymore because I have the greatest device ever invented—a Kindle, I still do. There's nothing like a paperback. So now my four year old and I make dates out of going to the bookstore--it's time I love and cherish.

I like to believe in soulmates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. I love to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart.

Connected was my debut novel and is currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble , iTunes and Kobo.

Torn is the sequel to Connected and will be released on October 1st, 2013. It is available for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

4.5 Star Review by Heather

I really, really enjoyed this book.  I really liked reading the book from the male POV.  It was a change of pace and one I enjoyed greatly.

Cara is always trying to hide behind things. She doesn't want anyone to notice her.  She has a very difficult past that she is trying to forget about.  So when the school playboy starts trying to get her attention she clams up.  She tries to fight her desire for him, but he can be very very persuasive.  Can she let her walls down to get to know him? Or is she just going to have a fling?

Ash is the college playboy that doesn't mind the status.  Everything comes easy to him. So he is shocked when he meets Cara. She isn't throwing herself at him like all the  other girls do.  She doesn't even give him the time of day at first.  He gradually breaks down her walls.  Can they have a future? Or is this a case of he wants what he can't have?

This book has some really sad parts.   I had tears in my eyes through some of this book.  It really made me take a step back and be grateful for the wonderful people I have on my life.  This book is a must read!!!  I can't wait to read more books by Beth Michelle!!!

I am a wife, a mom, an author, and a lover of all things chocolate, well, anything sweet really. While stuffing chocolate in my face, I enjoy reading young adult and new adult novels furiously, and spending time with my husband and two adorable children who keep me on my peppermint pink painted toes. Those same children who inspire me to tell silly stories that cause hysterical giggles to tumble from their bellies.
I love to laugh and love to have a good cry, especially after reading a novel that stretches my soul, one that makes me feel, and lingers in the corner of my heart.
I’m a hopeless romantic and a happily ever after fanatic, and I love to write about LOVE.
I began writing when I was in middle school, penning anything from short stories, to poetry, and then later moved on to write children’s books.  I have now endeavored into New Adult and Contemporary Romance novels and am loving every minute of it.  My first novel, Love Love, was released in May, 2013.
