FACTS ABOUT THE FATE SERIES
By Elizabeth Reyes
·        For some reason, so many of my readers don't know Fate #1 is out there and has been out for over a year. I continually get emails from readers asking me if I'll be writing Vince and Rose's story. I'VE WRITTEN IT! IT'S BEEN OUT FOR OVER A YEAR! I guess this is just further proof that I suck at promoting. =/
·        Breaking Brandon (Fate #2), coming later this year is the first book my cover artist hired models for. While I love all of my stock photo covers on my previous books, there is something so disappointing about seeing one of my guys on someone else's cover. Unfortunately, stock photos are not exclusive, so it's a risk you run. I love knowing that the cover for BB will not be on anyone else's covers ever!
·        I mentioned my feelings about motorcycles being dangerous. My anxiety about motorcycles being dangerous has worked its way into Breaking Brandon's plot.
·        For those who are not aware, the next two characters featured in the Fate series after Brandon are Sydney and Lorenzo. I've already written the prologues for both and have to literally force myself to stay away so I can finish my current WIP. I'm so excited about them. As usual, expect lots of drama. ;)
Another fun fact about my writing in general
Many of the incidents, fatherly/motherly advice, jokes, unexpected accidents/mistakes, awkward moments, and far out statements that my characters make or experience are a direct result from something/someone in my life.
No one will get this one yet, but once Breaking Brandon is out, you will. My brother is the Charlie Brown of my family. I'm pretty sure there is one in every family. ;)

A Fast Paced Love Story!

Liam and Katy were high school sweethearts. Shortly after they graduated they ran off to Vegas to get married. Liam does theater acting and it's there that he is discovered by Excite Entertainment and flown to L.A.

Once he's in L.A his marriage takes the backseat to rubbing elbows with Hollywood's biggest and brightest. One night Liam throws a big party and Katy comes into their house filled with half dressed women. When Katy says she's going to leave, Liam doesn't believe her until he comes home from filming and finds a note that tears him apart.

Four years later, he's tried to move on but never let go of the love he has in his heart for his Katy. It's in a little town they are filming in that their paths cross again and Liam has to try and convince Katy that their love is worth fighting for.

~ Excerpt ~

A party ruined my life. It was supposed to be all about making a name for myself and showing everyone that I was the new kid on the block, but my wife was in the background and she left me.
When I got home from shooting the day after the party, I thought she would be there waiting for me with a home cooked meal like always. She had told me she wanted to keep something normal while everything else was so make-believe. But when I came in, all that was there was a note:
"I'm leaving. I hope you have all the successes you've ever wanted. I won't be along for this crazy ride. Goodbye.
          Love, Katy"
I didn't believe her when she said she would leave. I thought she was just mad about all the girls in the house. I never thought she could really just be gone.
After I read that note, I tore the house apart. I ran through every room yelling her name and then I grabbed the phone and tried to call her over and over again. When she didn't answer, I called her parents. All Mrs. Parker would tell me was that she was safe and really upset. She said she was sure we could work things out, this was just the first of many fights married couples have. But she was wrong. Katy never came back home to me.
So I started drinking. I drank and drank until I could hardly move anymore. Mitchell Fallon said he was going to fire me if I didn't get over it because she's "only a girl" and there's plenty more where she came from. But he never got it. She's still more than just another girl to me, she's everything. And I blew it.
One morning I woke up and made myself think with a clear head. I was going to find her. Filming was on a break, so I took a few days and I drove home to my parents' house first.
"Sweetie, are you sure you're alright?" my mom asked me for the hundredth time after I got there.
"Yes, because I'm going to find her, Mom. I have to. I'm going to go talk to Mr. and Mrs. Parker and make them understand that I need her! I'll apologize and Katy will come home with me."
My parents exchanged a look and I sighed with frustration. "Look, I'll be back later."
I walked out, hopped into my car, and sped down the route I knew by heart until I got to Katy's child hood home. I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel until I had the courage to get out and walk up to the door and knock.
A few moments later, Mr. Parker opened the door and crossed his arms as he looked at me. "Liam."
"Mr. Parker, I need to know where Katy is." I wanted to sound like I meant business but it came out more as a plea.
He shook his head looking down at the ground. "I'm sorry son, I can't tell you that."
I glared at him. "She is my wife! I have every right to know where she is!"
He glared right back at me and stepped closer. "And she is my daughter. Do you have any idea what you put her through when you took her to that city? All you did was party and you forgot all about the wife you had that was right there with you!" He yelled through clenched teeth.

I flinched and stepped back as Mrs. Parker came around the corner to see what was going on.
She crossed her arms and came to stand next to her husband. "Hello, Liam."
"Please--please Mr. and Mrs. Parker. Tell me where she is so I can fix this," I pleaded with them.
Mrs. Parker looked at me sadly as she stepped forward and took my hand. "Liam, sweetheart, she needs her time." She turned to look at her husband. "Katelyn's not in Nevada anymore."
My eyes widened and I had to bite my lip to keep from yelling and getting hit by Katy's dad. "She left the state? Just up and left?" I shouted, frustrated, and started pacing.
I couldn't believe this was really happening. If she wanted to teach me a lesson, well, she did.
"Where did she go? You have family all over the place! Who did she go to?" I yelled, and stormed back towards the door.
"Son, I think it's best if you get in your car and leave. Now." Mr. Parker glared at me. "You're just going to cause a scene, and I doubt that's real great for your… what do they call it in Hollywood? Image?" He shook his head. "Go on back.  If Kate wants to come back, she will."
"And what if she doesn't? What if I already screwed this up too bad?" I gulped and looked down at my simple black wedding band. When we ran off to Vegas to get married right after graduation, our parents were furious. But we were in love and this was supposed to be forever.
Maybe forever isn't forever when you live in Hollywood

September Author Of The Month: Faith Andrews

~ Interview ~
Well hello there Faith.  I am so glad to get to sit down with you today and talk about YOU!!!  I love your book Man of My Dreams and I cannot wait for it to be released on the 19th of Sept so that everyone else can read it and fall in love with Declan.

First off I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy day to sit down and answer some questions for me.
I'm overwhelmed by how welcoming and encouraging everyone in the writing/blogging community has been to me. I'm so excited to get the book out there and I want to thank you for taking the time to give a newbie indie a chance to get her name out there.
How long have you been writing?
I've always had a love of writing and reading, but I didn't start writing with a purpose until May of last year. After being introduced to books like the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy, I decided, "Hey! I think I want to do this too!"

Have you always wanted to write?
In hindsight, I guess it was always a dream of mine, but it just took a little push from a good book to live out that dream. I'm so happy I decided to take this leap because its been so liberating to get words to paper and create these worlds where I get the opportunity to escape while doing something I love.
What are your favorite scenes to write and why?
I'll tell you what my least favorite scenes to write are...sex scenes! They intimidate the hell out of me and I always worry I'm being too technical. My favorite scenes would have to be the humorous ones. All my female characters are snarky and quirky (a lot like me) and I like the idea of making people laugh in the midst of something dramatic or serious. There's nothing like laughing out loud while you're reading a book.
Are your characters based off real people?

Hmmm...yes and no. I'll tell you right off the bat that Cara and Charlie were totally based on my own daughters, Julia and Leah. Declan is definitely a far off version of my husband and Mia--all my friends who've read the book seem to think she is totally me. I think there's a little bit of me and my personality in and every one of my characters.
How did you come up with your characters and what was your inspiration?
Inspiration comes from crazy places. Man of My Dreams came to me from a dream. I woke up one morning and remembered I had this crazy, unexpected dream about a friend from high school. It was out of left field but sparked one single idea that turned into 78,000 words. Besides dreams and even real life events (the nail polish scene in MOMD actually really happened to me), music is a total inspiration. Every single one of the songs on the playlist for the book have given me an idea or put me in a mood for a particular scene. I always say inspiration comes from the strangest of places.
What authors inspire you?
So many, but I truly owe my start to all of this to Stephanie Meyers and EL James. Their love stories inspired me to create my own because of the intriguing, captivating, mesmerizing characters they introduced us to in their books. Among them, Colleen Hoover, Jasinda Wilder, and Gail McHugh have written some of my favorite books of all time.
Which character has been the most fun to write?
One you haven't even met yet. I am having an absolute blast writing sexy, bad-boy Marcus Grayson.
Where do write?  Do you listen to music or like quiet?
This is the best question! Where do I write...on my phone, in my bed, on the kitchen countertop or table, sometimes in the shower in my head and the least likely (unfortunately) place you'll find me is actually in the tiny little office getaway I created for myself. Quiet? What's that? I have 2 kids and a dog who always want my attention! I have no idea what it's like to write a continuous scene without someone asking for something! I've gotten very good at ignoring the outside noise and just trudging though!
Do you like writing from female POV or male POV more?
Believe it or not I think I like writing in male POV a lot more. It's true when they say women are so much more complex. I of course don't know what it's like to be a man, but I feel like I don't have to hold back when I write in male POV...everything's acceptable...cursing, burping, being naughty, gross and just plain honest. I love it!
Can you tell us what we can expect to get from you in the future?
I'm currently working on a new book called Little Brother. I actually just sat down to write a blurb for it and would love to share it here (first? Hee Hee).
Sexy, tatted up, underwear modeling, Marcus Grayson is every girl’s dream—or more likely worst nightmare. He’s a player, a self-proclaimed bachelor for life, and he’s got no problem living up to his man-whore status. But when his older sister’s friend comes back from the past, he may just have the chance to turn some of his adolescent fantasies into reality.
Tessa Bradley is a self-sufficient, take-no-bull, single mother—well, now she is. Finally rid of her abusive, alcoholic ex, she’s making a new life for herself and catching up with old friends; the ones she was forced to break ties with because of her controlling husband. When she runs into Marcus, her friend Riley’s once-adorable turned smoking-hot little brother, she has no idea how he’s about to rock her world.
Thank you again for sitting down with me and answering these questions.
Thank you for having me and for spotlighting me for this month! I feel so privileged to have gotten to know you and share my story with you.

Trash, toilet paper and a few smokers huddled together for warmth decorate the front lawn. A loud bass line thumps from inside and Sawyer’s head is bobbing to the music like a dashboard doll as we make our way up the walk to the frat house. Neither one of us are a Sig, but I’m thinking nobody tells Sawyer he can’t join the party, so I figure I’m golden.

All I want to do tonight is forget; erase from my mind all that is my new school, my forfeited jersey and my blonde no more. Seeing her in Algebra every week is gonna suck, and I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to treat her with cold indifference, it just doesn’t feel right. We were friends before we were anything else, for so long, but I’m not sure yet if we can get it back there. Not having her in my life at all is foreign, and hurts like hell, but I’m not sure I can pull it off.

Not wanting to do the mental debate thing for the hundredth time in days, I follow Sawyer into the party, vowing internally not to think of it, her, us, them, again tonight. We hit the keg straight away, then head over to a group of people Sawyer knows. Introductions are made and the only one I register is Josie, a short, really pretty brunette across from me. Yes- I still have eyes.

I give her a smile and hold her hand in mine longer than a normal “nice to meet you” shake, rubbing my thumb across her wrist on the release. I just want to connect with someone, anyone, even for a moment. I’ve always been one-half of a whole, always known the girl in the room who was “mine,” and now I’m lost.

Sawyer picks up on my interest in her and gives me a nod, turning his attention to her friend, guiding her away to dance. Very nice.

I’ve got one foot in the stirrup, ready to fling my leg over and get “back on the horse” when a pair of small hands cover my eyes from behind. “Guess who?” a sweet voice whispers in my ear.
