This book was amazing!!! It was an amazing tale of survival, hurt, happiness and love.

Tabitha hasn't had an easy life.  After her mother died when she was seven life has been a struggle.  She was moved from foster home to foster home and most weren't good.  She had to leave the last one when she was seventeen.  She ran as far away from Philadelphia as she could.   She ends up in Portland and finds a job and place to stay right away.  The last thing she expected was to become a prisoner there.  She has a lot of pain associated with being in Portland.  She was forced to give her baby up for adoption by the guy holding her captive.  She struggles with life and all that has happened and finally tries to become a stronger person.  Can she do that?  Will she have the family she has always wanted?

Alex has been through a lot in his young life.  He grew up with an abusive alcoholic father.  He never thought he would find the girl of his dreams and want to settle down.  Well that is what happens when he meet Tabitha.  Then she ripped his heart out.  He ended up leaving and saying mean things to her.  He left and didn't come back for two and a half years.  What he finds when he gets back just might break him.  He can either work with Tabitha to understand everything or he can self destruct.   Will he get a family with Tabitha?  Or was her deceit too much for him?

This is an amazing second book on this series.  These characters are so lovable.  You just pray they finally get their happy ever afters. They deserve it.

Blog Tour: Fighting to Survive by Ashley Piscitelli

~ Synopsis ~

Shawn Matthews has been living a double life for almost a year. Now that his secret is out, life becomes even more difficult. Shawn is learning to balance his hectic lifestyle and carry on a relationship with the only girl that has ever made him want one. Will he be able to overcome the many obstacles that stand between them?

Jason and Nicole have had a hard time adjusting to the bombshell that was dropped on their relationship. Can they move past it without hurting each other in the process?

Carter and Madison still have a demon haunting them that won’t stop until they are ruined. Will they figure out his plans before it’s too late?

Fighting To Survive is the final book in the Guarded Hearts Series. It will test the strength, will and love of all the characters. This conclusion will have you laughing, crying and screaming for more.

~ Review ~
4.5 Stars

This book was a great final book to this series.  I loved Shawn and he was my favorite from the first book.

Shawn is struggling with keeping secrets from his friends. He sneaks away at odd times and then shoes up with bruises.  He doesn't want then to know what he does when he leaves, but that all changes one night when the girls show up where he is and sees him.  He is shocked and knows he needs to tell the guys before the girls do.  They all except what he does, but can he?  He also never noticed Christen until that night.  When she came to check on him he knew she was going to break him.  Can he find love?

Christen is known as the spoiled rich kid because if her parents.  Only her close friends know the 'real' her.  She is one of the most find to earth girls around.  She has wanted Shawn since the day she met him.  Though he never sees her.  And with his killer body why would he want her.  Will see get the courage to tell him her feelings?  Or will she let him slip away?

Jason and Nicole are still crazy as ever, but are still madly in love.  Though with the bomb shell dropped on them at the end of book two can they survive?

Carter and Mads have overcome a lot to be together.  Chris has caused them a lot of heartache.  Will they finally be out from under him?  Or will he finally succeed in destroying them?

This book was the conclusion to this series and I am sad.  I feel like it needed a little more. It almost felt too rushed.  I mean I needed a little more closer for Holly and I needed more from Shawn and Christen and Carter and Mads.  With that being said this is a must read, but you need to read the first two books in the Guarded Hearts series!!

~ Teaser ~

He spins around, and before I know it, he has backed me against the wall. He slams his hands on either side of my head, trapping my hands with them, and then crushes his mouth to mine. I let out a gasp of surprise and he takes advantage, slipping his tongue into my mouth. His kiss is so frenzied and urgent, so full of need. It’s unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life. I’m not innocent—I’ve been kissed by plenty of guys—but never like this.
He’s taking complete control over me and dominating every sense of my being. He pulls back a little, biting down on my lower lip, causing me to moan with a mix of pleasure and pain. I open my eyes to see him staring at me with such desire that my insides warm. Before I know what’s happening, he releases my hands and speeds out the door.
I stand there, pressed against the wall, panting from the most soul shattering and mind-altering kiss I have ever experienced. When I finally catch my breath, I smooth out my hair and clothes, and then make my way back to the crowd. Shawn Matthews is the kind of guy that my dad had warned me to stay away from, but there is no way in hell that’s happening now.

Blog Tour: Paradisal Tragedy by Ada Marie

~ Our Review ~
3.5 Holy Cliffhanger Stars by Guest Reviewer Cybill

I really would have loved to give this one more stars but it had a imaturity to the writing. There was a promise of a wonderful story with a little more finess added to the writing. It moved along very quickly, it was campy and cheeky. An it had a mother of a cliffhanger at the end.

Annabella Adams (Bella) is a girl with a secret, dealing with tragedy and lonliness all on her own. Afraid to tell her secret and relieve some of her pain she suffers in silence. Withdrawling from everything that made her who she was. Moving with her parents leaving horror and friends behind she hopes for a fresh start. It draws a little too much on the lonliness she feels and how her innocence was stolen. I got the picture the first few times the author said it.

Travis Braxton is an 18 year old straight A bad boy. He see's no future for himself. His father left the family for another woman and left him and his mother broken. He is arrogant and cocky (though we don't really see a whole lot of this, it is stated). He literally runs into Bella and there is instant attraction he must be her friend.

The relationship between Bella and Travis moves very quickly (a little too fast), and after the violence that Bella has experiences such a short time ago, she would not have trusted Travis so easily. Travis is a great, loving kid. He is understanding and cheeky.

I would love to see where this story goes seeing as it ended with a major hanger! I hope the author grows a little and gives the sequel some more depth.

~ Excerpt ~

Dear Diary,
I feel like I’m standing at the very top of a cliff, on the edge and the only way to go is down. I’m not quite sure I got here, to be honest. I’m trying to remember back to the girl that I used to be, the one that saw the good in everything, the one that brought the optimism to every situation. I miss her. I don’t know who I am anymore. I’m spiraling down a path unknown, and I don’t know how to find my way back to the light. I’m broken, and I don’t know how to save myself. I was raised a Christian, but lately, I’ve had such a hard time to find my faith with all the cards I’ve been dealt. I’m trying to find peace, I’m trying to fix my faith in God, but how can I do that? If I’m going through this much pain, then how is there possibly a God? I’m not sure where to turn anymore, which is why I write to you. I don’t particularly writing my bare words, my heart on paper for someone to possibly to find, but the thought of saying all my dark thoughts scares me so deeply. I’m lost and I feel alone and the truth is I feel like I’m dying. This life is killing me slowly.
The sad part is that I’ve been living with this secret since it happened. The only optimism I can find in it is the fact that my dad got that job offer all those months before it happened, and I was able to run away from everything. What happened to me, it took apart of me that I’m not sure will ever return. I’m stuck in this darkness, but unlike most darkness’s there’s no light at the end of this tunnel. It’s permanent. I’m falling down, and I don’t know how to get up. Why does it hurt so badly? Life shouldn’t be this hard for an eighteen year old girl? I guess it goes to show that life just isn’t fair and no matter how good you are as a person, you’ll never be able to be happy.

5 Stars

This book was more than I was expecting.  I am dying for book three.  I need it NOW.

Jennifer is so excited to start a life with Finn, but is he ready?  She knows she was losing her job, but when Jesse came and fired her she wasn't sure what was going on.  Finn fired her for leaving Luketon, not having sex with the boss.  She is very insecure and let's little insecurities get in her way.  She wants Finnley, but she can't take all the jealousy and runs.  Will she lose him this time?  Can she grow up and not let insecurities get the best of her?

Finnley wants Jennifer, but is afraid to open up to her.  He has his reasons and he won't let her come between his work.  He will not pick her over his job so he doesn't want her to make him chose.  He doesn't know what to do when she runs, but he will not continue to chase her.  When evil strikes will he be able to prove to Jennifer that he wants her? Or is it too late that he loses everything he has been denying himself?

This is an amazing second installment to Jennifer, Finnley and Luketon.  I wasn't a huge Finnley fan in book one, but I LOVED him this book.  You got to see the real side if him that he hides from everyone.
I wasn't a fan of Luketon in this book and I hope he isn't as evil as I think he is.  I am going to be dying waiting for book three.  It's going to be a long wait.  Can we lock Lyra up so she can just write book three now?  Keep her well fed and supplied with wine!! Then maybe we can have book three now!

Words make the world go round. I love to write, travel, and sing really loud at the top of my lungs in the shower. Sweet love stories (along with the dirty ones) make me gush. I am firm believer that a person can never have too many cats or cups of coffee, and that the F word is necessary. Forget the beach! Can their broken dreams become their happily ever after?

~ Excerpt ~

"Mr. Moore?” Johnny called out.

Johnny was the high school kid I’d ended up hiring last week to help out for a bit until Layton got back from his honeymoon. Johnny was friends with Ryan, the kid Layton had hired last summer.

I stood up and walked over to the gate. “Hey, Johnny. You get everything done?”

He nodded and smiled. “Yes, sir. Miss Will took Tink out for a ride a little bit ago. Should I stay and help her with the horse when she gets back?”

“Nah. Courtney is a big girl. She can handle it. Thanks, dude. I’ll see you tomorrow after church, right? Mr. Morris will be back in the afternoon, and then you can officially meet him.”

He reached out and shook my hand. “Sounds like a plan, sir.”

He turned and headed off to his old Chevy truck, and I headed back to the chair I had been sitting in. It was so damn hot out, and all I wanted to do was jump in the pool, but damn
Courtney had me sneaking around, reading this stupid book of hers. I wouldn’t dare tell her I’d bought myself a Kindle, and I had loaded her favorite book on it. I had to know what it was that had always made her want to read it.

It didn’t take me long before I was completely engrossed in Nick and Alexa’s world. I thought I heard a noise, but I couldn’t pull my eyes away from the Kindle. Nick was just about to—

“Whatcha doin’ there?” Courtney whispered into my ear, scaring the shit out of me.

I jumped up so fast that it caused me to lose my balance. I stumbled backward and went right into the pool, Kindle and all.

Courtney started screaming, “No! My Kindle! You asshole, you ruined my brand-new Kindle.”

I looked up at her as she began stomping her feet with her hands flying everywhere, and I couldn’t help but smile.

I quickly removed the smile and started getting out of the pool. “Nice. You’re worried about a stupid-ass Kindle. No, really, I’m fine, Courtney. I didn’t just fall into a pool where I could have possibly hurt myself.”

She stopped jumping around and looked at me. “It’s not like you fell off a building, for

Christ’s sake. You fell into a pool…with my Kindle!”

She reached for the Kindle, and I swore she wiped a tear away. I shook my head and then pulled my shirt up and over my head. Then, I began unbuttoning my jeans.

“Whoa there, cowboy. Giving me a free strip show isn’t going to make up for the fact that this is the second Kindle that has been destroyed while…”

I pulled my jeans down, and she stopped talking while she moved her eyes up and down my body. The moment she bit down on her lower lip and let out a small moan, I felt my dick jump.

This girl is going to kill me.

~ Synopsis ~

The last thing I remember is having drinks at Brady’s and trying to avoid eye-contact with my life-long crush—the gorgeous, unattainable Maximilian Hallowell. They tell me that was a year ago, but I have no memories of anything since then. What I do have is this ring on my finger that Max says he gave me, and this much-thinner body I’ve dreamed of most of my life. Aside from a case of retrograde amnesia, everything seems almost...perfect.

But the deeper I immerse myself into this new world of mine—planning a wedding to a man I don't remember dating, attempting to run a business I don't remember starting—the clearer it becomes that nothing is as it seems. Do I have the life I’ve always wanted or is it a facade propped up by secrets I don't even know I have?

I need answers before I marry Max, and the only person who seems to have them is the angry, tatted, sexy-as-sin rocker Nate Crane. And Nate wants me for himself.

Lost in Me is not a standalone novel, as the story continues in Here and Now book two, FALL TO YOU, releasing in June.

~ Excerpt ~

“You don’t understand what this is like. Not remembering? I’m planning a wedding to this man I’ve wanted most of my life. Don’t I owe it to him—don’t I owe it to myself—to have the truth out there before we promise until death do us part?”

Even in the moonlight, I can see the pain in his eyes.

“I just need answers.” I lift my chin and move toward the back wall of the house, toward him. Immediately, I regret the decision because his lips curve into a wicked smile and he closes what distance is left between us. “I need the truth,” I whisper weakly.

“The truth? Is that what you really want, angel?” His deep voice dances over my skin like a caress. A little tender. A lot wicked.

I can’t reply. I’m too busy holding my breath. Too deep of an inhale might brush my breasts against his chest, and I’m afraid to touch him. Afraid of what it might make me feel.

As if he can read my mind, he takes another step closer, and when I step to the side to turn away, I’m against the wall and his body is against mine, his hot breath at my ear.

“Do you want to know what it was like between us?” he whispers.

“Yes.”

I realize my mistake when a groan rumbles from his chest. “Should I start with how wet you were every time I touched you? Or maybe how you begged me that first night?”

“I didn’t.”

“Have you been telling yourself some wicked rocker seduced you? That I tricked you into my bed? Sorry. You asked for the truth. You begged. Right there outside the club, you begged me until I ripped your panties off and you were too busy biting my neck to talk anymore. Is that what you’re hoping to remember? How you wanted me so badly you let me finger you out in the open, against that building where anyone could have seen?”

My breathing is uneven, my cheeks hot. When I press into his chest to put some distance between us, my traitorous hands curl into his shirt instead.

He makes a low growling sound at the back of his throat. His teeth nip at my earlobe. Lightning cracks in the sky behind him. “You might have forgotten me, but you still like dirty talk, don’t you? And maybe if I made you come now, you’d still scream my name. Because you always screamed my name, Hanna. Never his.”

I gasp. “You are horrible.”

“What are you really upset about? That you wanted me? Or that even as you stand here wearing his ring, you’re secretly hoping I’ll tell you about it. Secretly wishing you could remember all the details.”

~ About the Author ~

Once a college English professor, I now write full time. I live in rural Indiana, where, when I'm not writing, I get to hang out with my husband and two kids--a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old hellion, er, girl. Not surprisingly, reading and writing remain my favorite activities, though both come in bits and pieces these days, not the big hunks of time I enjoyed before I had children. When I'm feeling virtuous, I like to go running (I use that word liberally. I'm really, really slow) or do yoga. Don't worry, I'm always careful to balance out such activities with a hearty serving of ice cream or a chocolate martini.
