4.5 Stars

Wow this book was a great read.  I was not a big fan of Preach though.  I really didn't like him and I still am not a huge fan.

Daisy never wanted to be in the MC world.  She never planned to be a club whore or an old lady.  She sees her parents relationship. He mom is a whore and dad is always drunk.  That all changed when she meet Preach.  She wanted him with everything she had.  He wouldn't lay a claim on her until she was eighteen.  He said it was only two months away they could both wait.  But that's a long time to go without sex when you're use to having your choice of woman nightly.  She has to trust him, because he gives her no reason not too.  But after one error her world is shattered and she leaves.  She never expected to be gone so long, but when she gets home Preach is a changed man and not for the better.  Will they have a chance together?  Or did they lose that chance with all the heartache?

Preach had a terrible upbringing. He is still running from it.  He is content being with the club whores until he meets Daisy.  And she brings him peace.  He wants her, but can't claim her until she is eighteen.   After on major error on his part she runs away.  He tries to talk to her, but she won't listen.  He spirals out of control and f**ks anything that walks and stays drunk constantly.  When Daisy comes back all he can do is mess up so he tries to stay away, but all he does is hurt her.  Will he win her back?  Or were they doomed from the start?

This book has a lot of push and pull between the main characters, but a lot is on Preach.  He turns very vindictive when he thinks you did something to hurt him.  He acts before finding out the truth and that gets him in a lot of his situations.  He's very hotheaded!! I wasn't very fond of Preach.  I loved how Daisy finally learned how to stand up for herself.  Especially with her mother.

~ Excerpt/Teaser ~

Preach “Can you do me a favor, brother?” Timber lifts his chin. “What’cha need?” Lifting a nearly empty bottle of beer, Maker motions for the prospect to bring him another. “I was supposed to pick up Little Flower, but I’m too drunk to have her on my bike. Can you run down to the diner and take her home?” “If you knew you had to pick up your daughter, why the hell have you been drinking?” He shrugs. “I didn’t mean to get drunk, but it just happened.” “If you for once put the beer down, it wouldn’t just happen,” Timber mumbles under his breath before looking toward me. “You wanna take a ride?” Nodding, I stand up and follow him outside. “I didn’t know Maker had a kid.” “He’s got a daughter, and she’s probably the prettiest little thing you’ve ever seen. His bitch of a wife keeps her away from the club, so she’s not around much. ” “Lula’s always here. Why doesn’t she let the girl come around?” He slides onto his bike before answering me. “Lula likes to be the center of attention. When her daughter’s around, she’s nothing but a shadow.” I climb onto my bike, wondering what is so special about this kid.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Perfectly Damaged by E.L. Montes

~ Synopsis ~

Schizoaffective disorder: a mental illness in which a person experiences a combination of mood disorder and schizophrenia symptoms.

I know about this illness—very well—because I suffer from it. It’s been four years since my diagnosis, and ever since, I’ve been living in a dark hole. Voices constantly invading my thoughts. Hallucinations. All of which force me to question if what I’m experiencing is even reality.
But here I am, still hanging on, still breathing and living through it.
That is, until he stumbled into my life. Logan Reed. I don’t want any part of him. I’ve pushed him away, but he isn’t easily deterred. I’ve told him I’m different, but he doesn’t care. He’s trying to slowly break me down. I’m trying just as hard not to let him. He doesn’t know how truly damaged I am; what will happen when he does?
I know the truth—he’ll never be able to look at me the same way again. Just like everybody else.

~ Review ~
4 Stars

This book was good.  It was tough to read in places because it is dealing with a mental disabiltiy.  Which can be very hard for everyone involve.  I felt sad for Jenna throughout this book and I wanted to punch her mom.

Jenna is struggling with Schizoaffective disorder.  She is content to be alone.  She lives mostly in her room.  She is lucky to have Charlie come and make her get out of bed and live.  Her mom doesn't help either.  She is mean and seems to hate Jenna.  Jenna just wants her mom, but doesn't know how to reach her.   She is thrown into helping with the building of the guest house.  She ends up running into Logan, one of the workers.  She feels things for him that she tries to hide, because it's easier to not feel.  But he is persistent and tries to break down her walls.  Will he succeed?  Or does he run once he learns about her disorder?

Logan is just going through the motions of life.  He is in a standstill not sure which way to go.  He's content with random hookups and he is a douche to woman.  That all changes the day he meets Jenna.  He knows she is hiding something, but he never would of guessed what it was.  Now he needs to decide, can love conquer all?  Or is it all too much?

This is a great book of loss, heartbreak, love and how to cope with a mental illness. It isn't easy, but if you truly love yourself and are loved you are worth the fight!!
I only have this book a 4 because I felt it drug on in places and I really needed more at the end.  It seemed too abrupt to me.

Cover Reveal: Finger Bang by Jade C. Jamison

~ Blurb ~

Orgasmic Meditation? Therapeutic?! Kaylee Baker is horrified when her girlfriends suggest a trip to artsy Boulder, Colorado, to check out the latest craze. What her friends don’t know about Kaylee is that she is a little repressed, bordering on frigid, and the idea of a complete stranger bringing her to orgasm—therapeutic or not—is horrifying.

Blaze Donahue has admired Kaylee from afar for quite some time, and part of the reason he’s kept his distance is because he’s had no indication that she might even be interested. But when he’s given the opportunity to offer her his own version of OM with no strings attached, he makes an offer she has a hard time refusing.

When there are undeniable sparks between the two, Kaylee runs, afraid of the overwhelming feelings she has for this gorgeous, sensitive guy. Blaze feels compelled to convince her otherwise but wonders if he’ll be able to crack through the ice surrounding this sweet girl. Can they find true love or will it just be a one-time O?

~ Excerpt ~

Blaze said, “Ladies, I don’t think this gang bang thing is for everyone. Can you blame the poor girl?”

Oh. Girl? He thought of her as a girl? Well, there went those fantasies out the window. Still, Kaylee took a deep breath and gathered up as much dignity as she could and said, “Definitely not for me.” She found her tongue. “I’m sorry, but I don’t want to get naked in front of a stranger, and I definitely don’t want to have one touching me…especially that way.”

Rachel leaned over the table and tipped her glass at Kaylee as though it were a pointer. “I’ll loosen you up before you graduate if it’s the last thing I do.” She sat back up and what little sobriety she had seemed to possess just seconds ago had disappeared. “In the meantime, Maddy, Shannon? Come with me to the bar to fetch more drinks and we can iron out the details without making our prudish friend blush.”

Well, too late. As the three women slid out of the booth, Kaylee felt just that—a mad red flush racing up her face, stinging her cheeks. She hoped it wasn’t evident in the bar or maybe she could blame it on drinking, but Rachel had, with her few words, made Kaylee not only feel prude but embarrassed. And in front of all people…

Once the women were up, though, Blaze showed no inkling of having registered his sister’s last words. Kaylee began to feel awkward then. What the hell would she say to this super hot guy and after a conversation like that? She had decided to ask him how classes were going when he said, “I can’t blame you really. I don’t think I could do that either.” He grinned. “Even though I find the idea exciting.” Kaylee felt her cheeks redden again, but she smiled before looking down at her glass once more. “Not gonna pay for it, though. Fuck that.”

Kaylee picked up her glass and sipped what little was left in it, simply to have something to do. She didn’t know what to say so she nodded her head and smiled. She’d always found Blaze’s looks and charm intimidating, so she was feeling more than a little tongue-tied. She didn’t want him to think she was a snooty bitch, though, so she said, “I agree.”

He rested his chin on his arms on the chair and said, “What’s the part that has you freaking out more? The fact that it would be a stranger or that you’d be paying for it?”

His question helped her relax a little. It felt like he was taking a practical approach and wanted to discuss the matter as two adults. They weren’t actually talking about orgasms or…fingers and clits, for God’s sake. So she took a deep breath and gave the matter a little thought. It didn’t take long for her to say, “I think it’s that it’s a stranger.” She didn’t know why she felt compelled to continue—especially with Blaze—but she did. “Seriously. It’s hard enough to relax and then you have someone you’ve never met before trying to make you feel good. I can’t imagine.” She smiled and rolled her eyes, hoping she appeared relaxed now, because she was far from it.

Blaze didn’t intend to help the matter at all. “What if it was you and me?”

Had she heard him right? And why the hell was her heart thudding in her chest? She had a hard time sucking in a breath, but when she was able to, she asked, “What do you mean?” Her voice was so low, she was surprised he could hear it.

“If I was the therapist.” He sat up and used the index and middle fingers of both his hands to air quote his last word. “You know…Maddy, Shannon, and my sister go to Boulder to have some stranger finger bang them, but what if someone you knew took care of you here?”

Her jaw didn’t drop to the table but she had lost all words. She just wished she could figure out

if Blaze was yanking her chain or giving her the offer of a lifetime.

~ Excerpt ~

savethedateAfter driving for two hours and a three hour seminar session, I’m exhausted. I take out my cell to text Jack and ask if he wants to order dinner tonight, because there is no way I even have the energy to go through a drive-thru. I notice as I look at my phone that I have twenty-six texts. That’s right – twenty-six. All sent between nine this morning and noon. All from my mother. They grow increasingly frantic, as if texts just shoot directly into my brain and notify me that she has something “very important” to ask me. I wish I had never given her my number. More, I wish I had never taught her how to text, because she seems to think it’s the same thing as actually speaking, and then she gets agitated when I don’t reply.

The last one she sent is incoherent. Just a lot of random letters and punctuation. I would worry that something was actually wrong, but my dad and Jon didn’t text. If something had happened, they would have as well. Instead, it’s just endless streams of urgency from my mother. I leave my stuff in the library and go back outside to call her. She answers almost immediately.

“I have been trying to reach you all morning,” she says.

“I had class.”

“But I texted you.”

“Right, but I still had class.”

“Okay, well, two things. First, we need to confirm the DJ. Have you done that yet? Did you meet with him? Do you know what time he’s setting up?”

“I’ll call him when I get off the phone with you. Sorry. It slipped my mind.”

There is a lengthy pause. She’s trying. I keep telling myself that, because it keeps me sane. A few years ago, I would have gotten quite the tirade about forgetting to call the DJ. Instead, she’s practicing deep breathing, which she learned about in yoga. My existence has led her to yoga.

“I promise. I’ll call,” I tell her.

“Okay. The second thing is that your father wants to put down a deposit for your honeymoon this week. Gail has been checking in and we don’t have an answer for her, so you have to pick something. I don’t like having to keep making Gail wait.” Gail is the travel agent my parents use. Everyone in my parents’ life is a long-lost friend; there is no such thing as Expedia.

“Can I let you know tomorrow?”

“I suppose, but haven’t you talked about it?” she asks.

“We have, but Jack feels silly taking your money. Maybe we’ll just do a weekend away at the Cape or something.”

The deep breathing resumes. People in my mother’s life don’t do weekends away at the Cape; they own houses there.

Jessica Wood writes contemporary romance.

While she has lived in countless cities throughout the U.S., her heart belongs to San Francisco. To her, there’s something seductively romantic about the Golden Gate Bridge, the steep rolling hills of the city streets, the cable cars, and the Victorian-style architecture.

She loves a strong, masculine man with a witty personality. While she is headstrong and extremely independent, she can’t resist a man who takes control of the relationship, both outside and inside of the bedroom.

She also enjoys ceramics and being creative with her hands. She has a weakness for good (maybe bad) TV shows; she’s up-to-date on over 25 current shows, and no, that wasn’t a joke.

And it goes without saying, she loves books—they’re like old and dear friends who have always been there to make her laugh and make her cry.

The one thing she wished she had more of is time.

3.5 Stars by Guest Reviewer Cybill

Paige Griffin is a young single mother, a nurse and a good friend. The past year of her life has been full of heartache. Her friend Natasha commited suicide and her daughter's father was recently killed in an accident. She is plagued by nightmares of death. She has not been successful in dating. She works, goes home and cares for her daughter.

Tyler Evans is a divorced, single dad. He runs his own business and cares for his farm. He see's his son every weekend. He is not interested in a relationship, but Fate has a different idea.

These two are thrown together. Literally crashing into each other. The meeting again at a park, where again they crash into each other. They both have issues about starting a relationship, but neither can deny the magnetic pull they feel when they are together.

This is the book to read if you are looking for a sweet love story. No drama, no angst, just two people trying to fit into each others lives. Paige is dealing with grief and trying to figure how to move on with life. Tyler is a great guy who is just the therapy Paige needs.

He set his beer bottle on the counter, he couldn’t take it anymore. If he didn’t get his lips on hers in the next few seconds, he’d go mad. As he stood in front of her, he slipped her wine glass out of her hand and placed it on the counter. She didn’t hesitate or say a word and that turned him on even more.
He gently cupped her cheek in his hand, feeling her soft skin beneath. “I need to kiss you, Paige. I need to feel your lips on mine before you drive me crazy.” He leaned down and kissed her, pulling her bottom lip into his mouth and tasting the bitterness of the wine on her lips.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Blissful Surrender by B.J. Harvey

~ Synopsis ~

This is a story of Sean Miller, a dom that will have your panties diving for cover with an eyebrow quirk. That will have even the strongest woman dropping to their knees in submission with a piercing stare, and Samantha Richards, a female cop who’s tough, seemingly impenetrable shell is strong enough to resist everyone except the one man it was build up to protect her against.

**Disclaimer – If you thought the first two Bliss books were hot, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Creative use of handcuffs, batons, a club scene you have to read to believe, and a tough as nails dominant who is blindsided when the one woman strong enough to disarm him threatens his resolve not to let his past dictate his future.**

Like the other books in the Bliss series, this book can be read as a stand alone. There are common characters in the books but it is not necessary to read the first two books in the series to read this one.

~ Our Review ~
5 Stars by Guest Reviewer Cybill

This is the third installment in this series, and it is another homerun! It is hot, dominant and wonderful.

We breifly met Samantha Richards in True Bliss as the hot cop neighbor to Zander. Now we get a gander at Sam's life. It is quite amazing how these lives collide, I love how the author tied them all together.

Samantha Richards is known as the "ice queen" around the precinct, for her hard demeaner. No one knows what Sam hides underneath.

Sean Miller was the dominate part of Mac's harem of three in Temporay Bliss. He is a lawyer and own's one of the hottest clubs in town. A club that is famous for it's VIP rooms or as I like to call them "den's of decadence"! He is 33 years old, rich and hot from head to toe!

Samantha and Sean have a history, they dated for a year in college. Being a submissive to Sean's dominance was something Sam's mother could not stand. When she told Sam that she deserved better and said a lot of other demeaning things, Sam thought it best to end things with Sean. Now 10 years later their paths cross again and the same heat that was there before is there again. No one has been able to push Sam's buttons like Sean could. Sean has not wanted anyone seriously since Sam, she is the only submissive he wants. She is the perfect combination of submissive in the bedroom and pigheaded out of it.

It was hard for Sam to accept that it was ok to want what she wanted, once she was able to see there was nothing wrong with the relationship they had then the blinders are off and the cuff are on! There is some serious hot loving in this book (fan's myself). Give it a read, it will not disappoint. Make sure you have an outlet for the sexual heat it causes because it will leave you panting!
