Blog Tour and Giveaway: White Collared Greed by Shelly Bell

~ Synopsis ~

In the second installment of Shelly Bell's four-part serialized erotic thriller, law student Kate Martin enters a world of dark secrets and seductive fantasies at the exclusive sex club Benediction.

Restrained by duty …
Reeling from a threatening phone call and frightened that her past will be revealed, Kate turns to the one man she can still trust: Nick. She can't deny her attraction to him, yet she craves the passionate connection she has with Jaxon.

Bound by passion …
Undercover at Benediction, Jaxon introduces Kate to the sensual pleasures found in exhibitionism and voyeurism. While they mingle with the club's patrons, Jaxon and Kate unearth clues about his wife Alyssa's last days that could lead them to her killer. But as she investigates further, Kate is shocked to learn of a cold case that is eerily similar to Alyssa's murder … and when the evidence ties Jaxon to yet another death, Kate begins to question everything she knows about her enigmatic lover.

OMG this book left off right where book one ended.  And it has me questioning everything.  I don't know if Jaxon is innocent or guilty.  It has me so confused!!

Kate is finally getting into the BDSM club to try and get information on Alyssa.  She is scared and turned on at the same time. This is all new to her and she has to act as a submissive to Jax.  She is having trouble fighting her attraction to Jax even though she tried to fight it.  She wants him, but she doesn't want to ruin her career.  And there is the small issue that she is also attracted to her boss Nick.  What will Nick think if he finds out she has crossed lines with Jaxon?

Jaxon is trying to prove his innocence in his wife's murder.  But things are popping up making him look guilty.   Can he prove his innocence?  Or is he really guilty?

I cannot wait to devour book three and hope I get some answers.  Then on to book four I go.  These books leave you on the edge of your seat biting your nails trying to figure out what is happening.

Ten Reasns I Love WHITE COLLARED Heroine, Kate Martin, And You Will Too

  1. No Cosmopolitans or Daiquiris this girl. Kate’s favorite drink is a Sloe Gin Fizz, although in a pinch, she’ll down a few shots of the gin she keeps in her freezer.
  2. Kate not only rides a Harley, she rebuilt it and does the maintenance herself.
  3. Let’s just say if the book took place in the Wild West, Kate would win a gun draw.
  4. She’s tenacious. When she wants something, she’ll do everything to achieve it.
  5. She’s loyal to a fault. Good for her friends, not so good for Kate.
  6. She’s no timid virgin. Kate owns her sexuality and doesn’t make any excuses for it.
  7. She’s not perfect. She pops her anti-anxiety pills—which she keeps in a Tic-Tac dispenser—like candy, and she makes a lousy cup of coffee.
  8. She gets sarcastic when she’s nervous.
  9. She rocks out to Eminem when she’s upset.
  10. Money doesn’t impress her.

I really started out loving this book a lot.  Then there was a turning point and from there it managed to go down hill.  Tori become weak in my mind.  I don't believe making empty threats and that is exactly what Tori did.

Tori is struggling with the fact she has nothing anymore.  All thanks to the wicked step mom who is slowly removing Tori from her fathers life.  He's on his death bed and she can't see him.   She is an emotional wreck and last thing she needs is bad boy Jayson Santiago playing with her.  She tries to stay away, but he is very persuasive.  What's the harm in one night between consenting adults?  Nothing as long as you don't let yourself get your heart involved.  Poor Tori has a lot to learn there.  So she friend zoned him.  Then when she thinks they can be something he goes and messes up royally.  And she just forgives him.  Not really any questions as.  Just decides to trust him again.  Then he does the same stupid thing later and she swears that's the last time anyone makes a fool out of her.  But she doesn't stay away.

Jayson Santiago is a big player.  Which I find funny because apparently from the prologue he wanted the good girl to settle down with.  Nothing about him scream that he want to settle for one pussy the rest of his life.  He didn't do commitment.  He did what he wanted and without the thought of how it would affect the people around them.   He felt he was entitled.  Though when he though Tori was acting like an entitled bitch he went and messed with her heart.  He was a jerk throughout most of this book and only played nice when he wanted something.

In my opinion Jayson didn't prove that he wouldn't keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Tori fully trusted him yet she kept letting him walk all over her.  She would stand up at first then crumble to his will.  I just couldn't get into the book after the second time he treated her like crap.

“You do know you’re beautiful, right? And your mom would be proud to see what a special woman you’ve become,” he whispered in my ear. When he was done speaking, he pulled back fractionally and stared into my eyes. Blue meeting green in an effort to communicate how genuine that statement was for him. My breath hitched, and I fought hard to swallow past the lump that was building in my throat. He said the most perfect things at just the right time. In that moment, I really wanted this man beyond just in my bedroom. I wanted him in my life. He leaned away and settled on my side of the booth, propping his foot up on the opposite side and stretching his arm along the back of the seat. “What other songs did you like? Or is it presumptuous of me to assume you liked more than one song on that CD?” I was grateful for the lighter topic, since the chemistry between us was starting to feel a bit combustible. “Not at all. I liked most of them, but ‘The Struggle’ spoke to me. I felt like you gave me a glimpse inside you. It was humbling to be given that opportunity. To hear how you struggled to be the son your mother would be proud of and the man that a woman would want to spend her life with. The man a daughter would want to call father. It was really very beautiful.” I watched as something passed over his face that was both breathtaking and raw. Before I had a chance to put my finger on what it was, it was gone. Replaced with a serious look that made me cringe a little. I wanted the playful Jay back. Not the one that appeared to be lost in thoughts, and not all of them good. “Although I have to say the song about fucking your best friend’s girl one night and then hitting an entire sorority the next was just as inspirational,” I deadpanned. “How did you possibly fit them in all in one night? Inquiring minds want to know.” I winked and hoped that would break the mood. It worked when he threw a fry from my plate at me. “Brat.” He laughed with a half grin on his face. “Really, though, is that true? Did you really have sex with that many women in the span of one night?” He looked uncomfortable for a split second before answering. “Maybe not all of them, but there were quite a few.” “Huh. So you’re a stallion then?” Growing up with horses I knew that stallions were often bred more than once in a day. If this story was true, I could imagine him going all night like a real thoroughbred. That thought was a little too much for my brain to comprehend. “I haven’t had any complaints. And I’m certainly hung like one.” “You know, they say the men who brag the most are the ones that shouldn’t be bragging.” “Oh, Tori. Now you’re testing me. If you want me to show you, baby, it can be arranged.”

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover

~ Synopsis ~

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover returns with a heart-stopping new series… Welcome to the Point.
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she’d have for a guy like him. But it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize . . . some boys are just better when they’re bad.

~ Review ~

4.5 Stars of Awesomeness

Shane Baxter is not a bad boy. He is not the boy that looks bad but is soft on the inside. Shane Baxter is the boy that is bad. He is bad straight to his core. He lives each day as if tomorrow will not exist. He is a thief, a con-artist and a convict. He lives hard and plays harder. He is fresh out of 5 years in prison and looking for revenge and answers.

Dovie Pryce has grown up hard but still see's the best of the world. She has lived the same life Shane has but has managed to come out on the bright side. Orphaned with a drug addicted mother and a bastard father. She is the product of an affair that was never supposed to be.

Race Hartman has grown up privileged. He grew up on The Hill, away from the degradation of The Point. Until his path crossed with Bax (Shane) with Bax trying to steal his car. He earned Bax's respect and friendship that night.

Bax is now out of prison and looking for the one person who could give him answers, Race. The only problem is that Race is in the wind. After threatening the kingpin of The Point, Race disappeared. In his search for answers Bax finds Dovie. Turns out Dovie is Race's sister.

Now to unravel the mystery and find Race. Will Dovie's sweetness and wholesomeness be Shane Baxter's kryptonite or his worst annoyance? He scares the life out of her and makes her body hum all at the same time. He is the best and the worst kind of bad. Compete hotness wrapped up in a terrifyingly scary package.

This book was wonderful. It is not your typical good girl saves the bad boy. There is no saving Shane Baxter. You either love him the way he is or find a Prince Charming. He is not and will never be Prince Charming. He will protect you as long as your around and spin your head sexually but do not get to close because with Shane nothing ever stays good for long.

This series looks to be wonderful. It will make you think, make you curse, and make you swoon. I can not wait to read Race's story next. You may find Shane Baxter to be unredeemable or he may just change your perception of what a night in shining armor should really be. He is a thug, he is a thief, but if he finds you worthy he will risk his life to make yours safe!

~ Synopsis ~

Liam “Hunter” Blake hates the Reapers MC. Born and raised a Devil’s Jack, he knows his duty. He’ll defend his club from their oldest enemies—the Reapers—using whatever weapons he can find. But why use force when the Reapers’ president has a daughter who’s alone and vulnerable? Hunter has wanted her from the minute he saw her, and now he has an excuse to take her. Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club’s president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger—a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he’s The One. Or so she thinks.

4.5 Stars by Guest Reviewer Kristie

ri·val noun \ˈrÄ«-vÉ™l\ : a person or thing that tries to defeat or be more successful than another

Normally it isn’t hard to get a boyfriend. Especially when you are pretty, smart and have a decent body. The thing is when your dad is the Reapers MC president, overprotective is a giant understatement. Her dad Picnic, accidently shot her last boyfriend, which leaves Em, twenty-two and still a virgin. Since dating outside the club isn’t really an option. Em finds herself crushing on Painter but like most of those guys, he wants nothing more than to please her dad and is constantly shooting her down. One night she goes out with friends and meets someone she has known for a while but is finally meeting in person. Let me just tell you.. Their chemistry is HOT! Em soon finds out that sometimes people aren’t always who they seem. Just when she thought she had found “the one”, her world is turned upside down.

You deserve a man who’ll fight for you, baby girl. You remember that, all right?”

Growing up in the foster system, Liam “Hunter” Blake hasn’t had an easy life. The only family he has ever known and cared for is his sister Kelsey and Jack. Jack a born and raised Devil’s Jack, the MC life is all he knows and he will do anything he can to defend his club against their oldest enemies, the Reapers. When he sees the Reapers weakness, he takes the opportunity and uses his best man Liam to make his move. Liam knows exactly who Em is and has wanted her since he first laid eyes on her.

If I played things right, she’d fall for me so hard she’d never know what hit her. And I wanted that. I wanted it a lot. Win for me, win for the Jacks, too. Perfect.

Things seem to be going smooth but then a shooting occurs and lives are lost and people are hurt. Fingers are pointed and both MC’s end up on the verge of a war with each other. When Liam’s plans go to hell and EM finds out the truth, she is devastated. With danger lurking at every corner, they have no choice but to help each other out. Trying to balance their loyalty to their clubs and their crazy want and need for each other, Liam and Em realize they have a long road ahead of them. Their families are after all enemies.

truce noun \ˈtrüs\
: an agreement between enemies or opponents to stop fighting, arguing, etc., for a certain period of time

Slowly Em and Liam figure things out but the situation gets down right deadly. Laim will do everything he can to protect Em and everything he can to keep her for his own, no matter what.

I’m with you, Em. Don’t doubt that, okay? No matter what happens or what you hear…Promise?”

Poor Em although she is the oldest, she is daddy’s little girl and doesn’t want to disappoint her overprotective father but at the same time she is ready for her independence, ready to live in the real world. Away for the MC, away from the men who won’t give her the time of day. She wants to experience the love that her dad had with her mom. Love can be a tricky and messy thing and she learns, you can’t help who you fall in love with.

I loved how strong she is in crazy situations. I enjoyed her being able to stand her ground. She is smart and witty but comes off as clumsy and weak. She doesn’t take anyone’s crap and she will tell you like it is.

Liam *sighsanddaydreams*. He is gorgeous and crude. Strong and confident and is great at his job. I adored his soft side. I loved how hard he fought himself with his feelings for her. He tried to look at her as if she were just another job. Little did he know, his heart had other plans for him.

Joanna Wylde definitely doesn’t disappoint in the third installment of the Reaper MC series. I just LOVED this book. The sex was *OMGHOTWOW*, seriously all I am going to say is “dry hump” and holy $hit! *fansselfoff* there was heart ache, angst, suspense. I could not put my kindle down.

Liam and EM are my favorite couple in this series. They complement each other in every way possible. I loved how they were able to work through their issues and figure out a way to stay true to their own.

I thought Horse was my #1 MC but that title now goes to Liam for me.
