Blog Tour & Giveaway: Price of a Kiss by Linda Kage

~ Synopsis ~

I don’t care what my cousin says; I am not the queen of impossible relationships. I mean, just because my last boyfriend tried to kill me and left a bit of a scar on my neck, then forced me to move across the country and legally change my name to Reese Randall to escape him, does not mean—
Oh, who am I kidding? For a freshman in college, I have to have the worst dating track record ever.

It’s no wonder love is the last thing on my mind when Mason Lowe enters my life. But the chemistry between us is like bam! Our connection defies logic. And he’s just so freaking hot. Being around him makes me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt before. I even like bickering with him. He could be my soul mate…except for one glitch.
 He's a gigolo.

~ Our Review ~
5 Star Review by Heather

Holy shit balls batman this book blew me away.  This book draws you in from the very first page, and it leaves you panting for more.  You won't want to put this book down.

Reese is running from an abusive ex who tried to kill her.  She isn't looking for love or even a boyfriend.  She wants to feel safe again and get her college degree.  Though the moment she sees Mason she is addicted to him.  She wants to know more about him even though her cousin tells her to stay away from him, because he is a gigolo.  She didn't care she still felt a pull to him.  Can she just be his friend? Or is their connection too strong for them to fight it?

Mason is not happy with his life.  He does not like being a gigolo.  He wants out, but doesn't know how to do it.  He has never felt anything for a woman before.  He is instantly attracted to Reese even though he tried to fight it and pretend he doesn't like her.  Will he find a way to get out of his gigolo lifestyle?  Or are Reese and his relationship doomed from the very start?

This book is ah-fucking-mazing.  This book will have you cussing and wanting to throw your kindle.  Nothing better than having those emotions pulled out while reading a book.  Linda Kage, I cannot wait to see what else you have in store for us.  I can already see I will be adding a new author to my faves list!!

Blog Tour & Giveaway: A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers

~ Synopsis ~

Have you ever gone just a little too far?

Lexie Banks has.

Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for the better part of the last few years … and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome.

But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt … and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy-on-the-eyes deacon … only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either way.

~ Our Review ~
3.5 Star Review by Annie

Wow. What a cluster fuck! At first when I read the synopsis I was thinking, I can’t read this. A brother and a sister! GROSS! Then I was like ok maybe I should just start it and see where it goes. Let me tell you I am glad I gave it a chance. It goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover…or synopsis in my case.

Two days prior to Lexie leaving for Italy for a year abroad, she finally realizes that she has deep feelings for Trent, her stepbrother. They finally take their relationship to the next level, but instantly feel guilty. So she leaves for Italy and he leaves to go back to school.

Now here is where it becomes CRAZY! The guilt eats at her and she finds herself in a confessional booth. Confessing all her sins. Lord knows she has a lot of them. She basically knows she has a one way ticket to hell! The priest tells her in order to keep impure thoughts of Trent away she needs to keep herself busy, and he has just the guy to help.

Reverened Moretti is in charge of a youth program. He puts Lexie to work and becomes a fast friend. The only problem is, he is slowly starting to have feelings for her. Is the perish where he belongs? Or is she just a test from god?

This is the love triangle of all love triangles. It is almost shocking how messed up one girl can get. She has her brother (ok step brother, but it’s still her brother) on one hand and a soon to be priest on another. I have heard jokes start off that way, but never in a book!  I wanted to shake her, smack some sense into her, and tell her to get her shit together. Lexie is always wanting what she can’t, or better yet shouldn’t have.

The major downfall to this book was that it sort of made me feel dumb. It was a reminder of how much I didn’t pay attention in school. It was one history lesson after another. It needed more romance and less history.

Sept Author of the Month Faith Andrews: Character Spotlights & Giveaway

~ Synopsis ~

Mia Murphy may be married to the man of her dreams. But the man in her dreams is the one that got away—her high school crush.

Mia’s stuck in a rut, just like every other stay-at-home mom, and the only thing saving her from her monotonous routine is her perfect husband, Declan. He’s gorgeous, he adores her, and the man stole her heart with his sexy singing voice. Mia feels like the luckiest girl in the world, until she discovers that Mr. Perfect is not Mr. Faithful. Mia is devastated. Everything she once believed about Declan and their marriage is now covered in a big cloud of doubt and regret. On impulse, she kicks the cheating bastard out, pushing them into a separation that could mean the end of the picture-perfect couple.

But when Mia receives an invitation to her high school reunion, she finds herself abandoning the present for the oh-so alluring pull of the past. Although her heart still belongs to her husband, inescapable thoughts of her crush, Noah, resurface. And ten years later, Noah isn’t afraid to make his move. When the build-up of fantasies and ‘what ifs' comes to a head, sparks fly and it’s Mia’s turn to question if her marriage is everything she wants out of life. Searching for answers, Mia dives head first into dating Noah, falling further away from her husband and closer to her old flame.

But Declan’s not giving up so easily. Mia is his one and only and he’s not about to let another man win her heart.

~ Character Spotlight ~

Mia is definitely not one of Heather’s faves. She’s flawed—what woman isn’t? But her stubbornness and her own insecurities almost lost her the love of her life.

Here are some facts about the woman we love to hate.

Full name: Mia Page Murphy

Born: July 17, 1979

Stats: 5’5”, 115 lbs, blond hair; chocolate-brown eyes

Favorite music: Lover of all music, especially Third Eye Blind, Matchbox Twenty, Alanis Morisette.

Favorite TV Show: Teen Wolf (doesn’t Declan look at lot like Derek Hale?)

Favorite Movie: Dirty Dancing…nobody puts baby in the corner!

First kiss: Billy Denker, freshman year of high school. She tired of holding out for his baseball teammate, Noah Matheson, and decided to just get it over with.

First love: Declan Murphy.

First heartbreak: Although her heart needed mending after what didn’t happen in high school, her heart shattered into pieces the night she found out Declan wasn’t faithful.

Biggest fear: Growing old.

Biggest regret: Not hearing Declan out from the beginning.

Best friend: Grace Buono. They met in the school yard when Mia was in 1st grade and Grace was in kindergarten. They played a game of hopscotch together and have been inseparable ever since.

Proudest moment: Becoming a mother. Her children own her heart—even if they drive her crazy sometimes.

Wildest thing she did to defy her parents: sneak out to an underground grunge show with Grace and her brother, Tony.

Random Stuff:

~DVRs reruns of Full House for the kids to watch.

~ Totally named her son after a teen-heart throb vampire.

~ Wrote fan mail to Leonardo DiCaprio for months after Titanic and hunkered down with Grace for an entire weekend to watch every movie he was ever in.

~Can’t sing to save her life, even though Declan would never tell her that.

~Slept in her parents’ bedroom every night for 4 months after seeing the Exorcist and will never watch another scary movie again.

~Went to a psychic during her split with Declan—seems the “kook” knew who she’d end up with all along.

~Believes in Santa Claus, unicorns, a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow, and happily ever afters.

Heather has fallen head over heels in love with Declan Murphy—even though the synopsis of Man of My Dreams had her certain she’d hate him. Let’s face it, he cheated, he did some things in the past that made Mia doubt his love for her, and he’s a workaholic, BUT when you get to know who he really is…it’s hard not to melt from his swoon worthy ways.

Here are some facts about Mia’s leading man.

Full name: Declan Michael Murphy

Born: October 12, 1980

Stats: 5’11”, 175 lbs, jet black hair; smoldering ice-blue eyes

Favorite music: Anything from the ‘90s grunge or alternative era. One of his favorite bands is Third Eye Blind because of Mia’s influence.

First kiss: He was 15 and she was a tomboy from the neighborhood that had suddenly turned all girly and interested in boys for things other than games of man-hunt. One day after school she asked him if he’d ever kissed a girl before. When he told her no, she cornered him in her backyard and pulled him in for an awkward first kiss. There were no sparks, well—except for the ones from their braces colliding, and rumor has it that she went door to door breaking all the neighborhood boys in that year.

First love: There’s no doubt in his mind that he’s only ever loved Mia.

First heartbreak: The day Mia kicked him out. He knew he’d done wrong, but just wanted the chance to explain. The moment he walked out that door his heart felt like it would never be the same. He feared he’d lost the best thing he ever had.

Biggest fear: Losing his wife and kids to one horrible moment of stupidity. The idea of having them slip through his fingers because of something he did—those are the things that keep a man up at night.

Biggest regret: That’s easy. Her name is Samantha.

Sweetest moment: Hearing Mia say ‘yes’ that day in the library. He knew his destiny was set the second he saw her on campus, but when she agreed to go out with him, a lifetime of love and happiness flashed before him.

Sexiest moment: Serenading Mia at The Alibi. It made him feel good to make her feel…wanted. And God, did he want her bad that night, but all good things come to those who wait.

Proudest moment: Besides becoming a father, he takes pride in waiting to be in love before he had sex. Carl and some of this other buddies dogged on him for a long time about it, but holding out for his one true love goes down as a shining moment in his book.

Craziest thing he’s ever done: Quit his corporate, high paying job to follow a dream.

Random Stuff:

~Has a fear of raccoons, squirrels, and opossums.

~Started a garage band called Murphy’s Law in middle school. He sang lead and played bass guitar but his rock star dreams fell flat when his parents made him join marching band in high school.

~Went to college on the marching band scholarship—total band geek for all of one semester.

~Is totally ticklish and will giggle like a girl if someone touches his belly. Cara uses this to her advantage a lot!

~Cried like a baby the day his kids were born.

~His favorite thing about Mia is her smile. He hates that he was the reason she didn’t for a while.

~Has a once a month wing eating ritual with his dad, his brother Connor, and Mr. P.

~Will forever hate the name Noah and plans on escorting Mia to any and all high school related functions even if he has to take a boat home from China to do so.

~Grace is his hero.

He may be Heather’s least favorite MOMD character, but I’m hoping ladies will fall in love and dub him their new book boyfriend. There is no reason not to love Noah, he’s sweet yet rugged, kind yet flirty, and even though some may hate him for pining after a married woman, he is as respectable as they come.

Here are some facts about Mia’s high school crush.

Full name: Noah Daniel Matheson

Born: February 21, 1979

Stats: 6’2”, 203 lbs, dirty-blond hair; magnetizing jade-green eyes

Position played for the Westmont Pirates baseball team: short stop

Favorite major league baseball team: the New York Yankees

Favorite song: Teen Spirit by Nirvana

Least favorite song: The One That Got Away by Katie Perry

First kiss: Ladies loved him even in nursery school. He played a seemingly innocent game of “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours” in 1st grade and had is first French kiss from a seventh grader when he was ten years old.

First love: No comment

First heartbreak: No comment

Biggest fear: ending up alone, not sharing his life with that special someone.

Biggest regret: being too blind to notice Mia in high school

Biggest accomplishment: bringing his talents and expertise in contracting to people in need through Habitat for Humanity.

Random Stuff:

~Rejected Lila Peters at least 3 times a week

~He still has his lucky eraser. It has a safe place in the top drawer of his desk in his office

~Was scouted by 5 major league baseball teams, but left that behind to follow his real dreams to “build”

~ Paid his little sister’s way through college

~Will never admit to cheating his buddies out of poker money

~ Never got into a physical fight—except for that one time

~ Is dying to have children of his own

Title: Never Let Go
Author: Scarlett Edwards
Genre: New Adult Romance
Publication Date: October 15, 2013
Event Organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.

~ Synopsis ~

The start of college heralds new beginnings and new friendships. It gives every girl a chance to reinvent herself.

I go and screw mine up by meeting the most gorgeous guy I've laid eyes on in five years while talking to my cat outside my dorm.

But Andrew Crowner is far from judgmental. After helping me move my things to my room, he has me smitten by his easy manners and kind smile. And from the way his eyes linger on me before he leaves, I start to think that maybe I've caught his attention, too.

I let myself believe that luck might finally be on my side until I stumble upon my roommate... and her overnight guest.

Spencer Ashford.

Lean and tattooed, sexy as sin and dangerous, Spencer is exactly the type I want to avoid. I would have no trouble with that... were it not for his swift and inexplicable interest in me.
In the span of a week, I go from a girl with next-to-no experience with boys to one caught in the cross hairs of two totally different men.

Andrew's interest is wholesome and sweet. Spencer's is edgy and raw. The choice should be easy. But there are always complications, and sometimes, matters of the heart take the least expected turns.

~ Our Review ~
4.5 Star Review by Annie

Michelle Lynn is becoming one of my new favorite authors.  This is her second novel, and it will not let you down. It was jam packed full of hot guys, angst, likeable female characters and plenty of sexy time.  Page one starts off with a bang, no pun intended!
Escaping her slutty past, Sadie transfers to a new college her senior year.  She doesn’t want to be the girl who guys use once and then toss away. She is never going to let a guy use her again. So she puts a wall up.  So when a sexy stranger approaches her at a party she immediately has her guard up. Even though her mind wants nothing to do with him, her heart and body are another story. Can Sadie get over her past? Or will she forever be plagued as the slutty girl with issues?
Brady has issues of his own. Secrets he is not willing to share with anyone. He hides behind the lyrics in his music. When family issues finally get the best of him, he just wants to run away from it all. That is until he see’s someone who draws him in. He has to know her. So when he runs into her at a party it is fate. If only he can build up the courage to let her into his life.

I loved how the two main characters come from different backgrounds. Brady is the Mohawk sporting rocker and Sadie is the rich girl from the country club. It shows that no matter where and what you come from love can conquer all, and if not the sex will surely be good.  Especially when you have a hot hunk like Brady…DROOL! I would give this book a 4.5 easily.

~ About Michelle ~

Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. ;)

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.

~ About The Author ~

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life.  So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase.  Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodge ball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head.  Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what laptop out the window.  She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone, called her boss and quit her job.  Grinning, she made another call to her hubs and told him of her new adventure (after making sure his heart was beating properly again).

So began A. M. Hargrove's career as a YA/NA and Adult Romance writer. Her books include the following: Edge of Disaster, Shattered Edge and Kissing Fire (The Edge Series); The Guardians of Vesturon series (Survival, Resurrection, Determinant, reEmergent and Beginnings); Dark Waltz and Tragically Flawed.

Other than being in love with writing about being in love, she loves chocolate, ice cream and coffee and is positive they should be added as part of the USDA food groups.

~ Excerpt ~

“Easy,” Caleb murmurs behind me.

“I’m fine.” Maybe if I keep saying it I’ll start to believe it myself.

He moves up behind me and nudges my legs apart. “Widen your stance for balance.”

I fire again, and my blood thickens as adrenaline pumps hard and fast through me.

It doesn’t take a Navy SEAL to figure out how to line up the sights, and I squeeze the trigger, again and again, my body taught with aggression that I didn’t even know I’d been holding.

Shooting is great therapy.

When the magazine is empty, Caleb wordlessly shows me how to switch it out, and I continue to throw the bullets down the range, clip after clip, until all four are spent.

I set the heavy gun on the shelf, pull my goggles and earmuffs off and step back. I have to lock my knees because my legs feel like Jell-O and I’m afraid I’ll fall. My arms are humming, I’m panting, and I swear to God, I could run a marathon.

Suddenly, Caleb steps up behind me and presses the button to bring the target back to us.

“Take a deep breath,” he whispers against my ear and I instinctively respond, pulling in a long, deep breath. He presses his chest against my back, his thighs against the back of my own, and pulls in a long breath of his own. “You smell so fucking good.”

His cock stirs against my backside, through his jeans. He pulls his hands up my arms and down my sides to my hips, where he rests them as he runs his nose up the side of my neck.

With the noise and feel of the gun still in my head, my heart still pounding like crazy, I want him.

Now.

“You have no idea how fucking good you feel pressed up against me like this,” he whispers, his voice rough and strained.

“I think I have an idea,” I respond, surprised to hear the raw need in my own voice. Closing my eyes, I lean my head back on his shoulder and relish in the feel of his hands kneading my hips and his face pressed into my neck. My nipples are puckered and straining against my bra, and goosebumps have broken out up and down the length of my body.

I want him unlike anything or anyone I’ve ever wanted before.
“Caleb.” His name is a whisper, a prayer.

“Smell so damn good.”

“Touch me,” I demand softly. His hands still. He kisses my neck softly, takes a long, deep breath, and then backs away.

I turn around in surprise and in full-blown anger.

“What kind of game are you playing?” I demand.

“I’m not playing a game.” He crosses his arms over his chest.

“Caleb.” I just stare at him for a long moment. Thirty seconds ago his hands were on me and he was whispering the sweetest things in my ear.

Now he’s turned back into the drill sergeant.

And men say women are confusing.

Finally, he turns and pulls the target down.

“I’ll be damned,” he whispers.

“Let me see.”

There are a few stray bullet holes around the white part of the target, but in the center of the chest and the top of the head are two good-sized holes where my bullets pierced the paper.

“You’re a natural.” I shrug like it’s no big thing, but inside I’m doing the mega happy-dance. “Not so much a pussy, I guess.”Caleb laughs, long and loud and scoops me up into a long hug.

“Definitely not a pussy,” he agrees as he pulls away from me.

“Caleb?” My heart is beating hard, and I’m still pissed at him. He’s smiling down at my target, but when his eyes meet mine, he sobers.

“Yeah.”

“Don’t fucking touch me like that again unless you plan to finish what you start.”

His eyes go hard and his jaw tightens. Before I can turn and walk away, he grabs my wrist and pulls me against him, pinning my arms between our bodies.

“Let’s get this straight, Brynna. I want you so fucking bad my teeth ache. I’ve wanted you for months. But you’re part of my family, and I’m supposed to be protecting you. Dropping my guard and fucking you into the mattress is not the way to keep any of you whole.”

I gasp as his words sink in and I want to beg him to take me home do exactly that; fuck me into the mattress, but before I can speak, he lowers his forehead to mine and clenches his eyes closed as if in pain.

“I’m not going to fuck up our friendship, or make things weird for you with my family, just because I can’t keep my damn hands off you. You mean too much for that.”

I lean into him, wanting to comfort him, but he sighs, lifts his head and plants his lips on my forehead for a long few seconds and then backs away, turns his back on me, and loads the weapon and clips back into his locking gun box.

“I apologize. I won’t touch you again.” Before I can argue, ask him to talk with me about this, he stalks off ahead of me. “Let’s go.”
