Book Trailer: Beautiful Goodbye by Chandin Whitten

Review: Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

5 Star Review by Dawn

   Synopsis

Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York
Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much?

Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes
.

Our Review

When Beautiful Disaster ended, I was a wreck. I just needed more Abby and Travis. More America. More Shepley. Thank goodness Jamie McGuire understood the longing that took root in her fans, and gave us the best darn male POV I have read to date.

If you can make it through the gut wrenching Prologue, you will make it through the book. Walking Disaster was flawlessly executed. Jamie took scenes from Beautiful Disaster and filtered them throughTravis's point of view in such a way that you understood the struggle  and reasoning behind his every thought and action. This is no small feat, since let's face it, Travis is a hot headed, impetuous guy on his best day. Yet, when I read why he did what he did (even why he brought two girls home to his house when he was clearly falling for Pidge) I GOT IT (I know, I can't believe it either). I was able to really understand what it was about Abby, and Abby alone, that he needed. The privates scenes between Travis and his father made me mist up more than a few times.

I always wondered why Abby did not leave the casino and go to a different one when her ex-boyfriend showed up. Walking Disaster cleared that up for me. Lingering questions were answered, new scenes were added to add new depth to an already great story. Jamie seems to "get" the male point of view in a way that boggles my mind.

I felt so much during this read. Jamie is a master at sucking you right back into college, no matter what age you are.

The only reason I even got through all the emotions that swirled around me during this read is I kept telling myself, "You KNOW how it ends! Put your big girl panties on and finish...." The best part, was I DIDN'T know how it ended because the Epilogue blew me away. It was just the best; a cherry on top of my Travis Maddox sundae. If you loved Beautiful Disaster, you will love Walking Disaster more.

Review and Playlist: Rock My Bed by Michelle A. Valentine

4 Star Review by Heather

Everything always seems to fall into place for twenty-four year-old Aubrey Jenson, except for when it comes to her luck with men. Bad boys always draw her in and crush her heart, and Black Falcon’s lead guitarist, Riff, is no exception. After sharing a few wild nights together, she leaves him behind, knowing a guy like Riff isn’t the relationship type, merely just a play thing.

When she returns to New York, she tries to get the passion she felt in Riff’s arms out of her head by dating Isaac, a successful representative at Center Stage Marketing. Just when she thinks she’s forgotten Riff, she’s forced to see him again when her best friend, Lanie, ropes her into being a bridesmaid for her upcoming wedding to Black Falcon front man, Noel.

Sparks fly instantly between Aubrey and Riff when they’re forced to reunite, and suddenly she finds herself caught between the man that’s good for her and the one who completely rocks her in every way.

**New Adult Romance--Book 2 in the Black Falcon series. This book can be read without reading book one.**

OMG I love a super sexy rocker! Riff is AHMAZING!!!

I knew it. Redheads are always feisty, and they never disappoint in the sack.”- Riff

Aubrey is always getting her heart broken by the bad boys she falls for. She is tired of hearing her mom tell her to find a nice, hardworking guy. So she decides she is going to try dating a guy like that. First she is going to have a last hurrah. She wants Riff the lead bassist from the Black Falcon band. So she decides that a one night stand with him is the way to go. She tries to set some rules so neither of them falls in love. Do these rules really work? Does Aubrey really just want to settle for the boring guy who is safe? Or will she risk her heart for the man that sets her body on fire?

Meet me out by our bus. Let me have just one night to fuck you senseless. I guarantee I'll have you speaking in tongues before the nights through.”

Riff is the lead bassist in the band. He is a man whore who gives gold tickets to women that he wants to sleep with. The minute he lays eyes on Aubrey he wants her. There is nothing like a girl playing hard to get to make him want them more. She is a challenge for him. What turns out as a game soon makes him start wanting what he doesn't think that he deserves. So he tries to sabotage their relationship.

I absolutely loved this book. I loved how we still got to be with Noel and Lanie also. Another well written book Michelle Valentine!!!

Review: Rock the Heart by Michelle A. Valentine

4 Star Review by Heather

For the last four years, good girl Lane has regretted breaking up with Noel Falcon. She thought she was sensible when she told him his dreams of being a rock star would get him nowhere, but now that he's a rock god and her career is stagnant, she realizes just how wrong she was. When Noel hires the marketing company where Lane is an intern, she’s forced to see him again. If she wants to land her dream job as executive within the company, she has to win him over and secure his account. Too bad Noel is still pissed at her for breaking his heart.

When Lane’s company flies her to a Black Falcon concert to gain Noel’s attention, emotions run high the moment she sees him and realizes she’s far from over him. But Noel’s countless trysts with groupies and his cocky attitude make Lane believe he isn’t the same guy she once loved—now he seems to only want her body. Then after Lane discloses she needs him to procure a job, Noel proves he’s a changed man by forcing her to go on the road with him in order to get it.

After Lane reluctantly takes Noel up on his offer, she becomes willing to do whatever it takes to keep him satisfied, even if it means succumbing to his seductive ways. Lane soon finds deception is a dangerous game and she’s not the only one playing.

I love me a hot rock star! Noel Falcon is amazing. I couldn't put this book down once I started reading.

Now you know what it's like to want something you can't have.” - Noel

Lanie is focused on her career. She wants to be in marketing and be the best there is. Then she accepts the job of going to Texas and talking to Noel about his charity benefit. She doesn't know how he will respond to seeing her after the way she left him four years ago. She is in for one crazy roller coaster ride.

Fuck the kissing only rule, Lane. I need you. Be with me, please.” - Noel

Noel Falcon is a hot rock star. He is a playboy. He has never forgotten his first love Lanie. That is why when he sees her again he will do anything to keep her in his life. Even manipulate her employer to get her to be with him. He has his secrets that he doesn't want her to know because he is afraid he will lose her. Do these secrets tear them apart? Is the love strong enough for her to trust him?

I don't get where he gets off thinking he should be able to have his cake and eat it too because news flash, this cake store is fucking closed.”

This book was amazing. I love when it feel like I am right there with the characters in the book. Well done Michelle Valentine!!!!!

Review and Playlist: Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines

5 Star Review by Annie

Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…

This book was AMAZING, but if you have read any of Abbi Glines books before this would probably come as no surprise. This book starts off with a bang, and within the first couple pages there is one of the sexiest scenes I have read in a long time. Abbi Glines once again strikes gold and makes me fall a little bit more in love with the characters in her books.

“Sometimes our imperfections are what makes us special.”

Della has never had the chance to fully experience life, due to her riddled past that is full of dark secrets and permanent emotional scars. Della decides to take a long road trip and just drift from place to place to help her discover who she is and what she wants to be.

Woods decides to come to the rescue of the sexy girl who is trying to figure out how to pump gas. He thought a one night stand with a total stranger is just what he needed to help him forget all his problems. He thought he would just wake up the next morning and forget all about her. He thought wrong.
Woods totally took me by surprise. We were first introduced to him in Fallen Too Far, and I just thought he was the cute country club owner’s son and a friend of Rush’s. I was completely wrong. Woods is a certified sex god, and WOW am I in love. I don’t think I will never be able to get enough Woods. He is official my top boy toy!

There is a cliffhanger at the end, but it is nothing that will make you go absolutely crazy. Simple Perfection is the next book, and I cannot wait to read it. I am anxious to find out what happens to Woods and Delia.

This book is part of the Too Far series, but it could be a stand alone book. I feel it is more of a spinoff rather than a continuation story. With that being said you should still read the others, because they are equally AMAZING!

Review: Lover Undercover by Samanthe Beck

3.5 Star Review by Heather

He’s undercover. She’s in over her head. Yoga instructor Kylie Roberts is the good twin. At least she was—until an accident forces Kylie to step into her twin’s sexy stilettos at a posh Hollywood “men’s club." But nothing could've prepared Kylie for the dead body in the club’s parking lot or the ridiculously hot detective who insists the killer is targeting her regulars. Detective Trevor McCade needs Kylie’s help to draw out the killer. It means long nights undercover and long dances where Kylie’s body tempts him with sensual promises. Dances that leave them both wanting more. But despite Kylie's hidden identity and the danger lurking in the shadows, it’s only a matter of time before Kylie and Trevor take this undercover operation under the covers…

Kylie Roberts lets her twin sister Stacy talk her into posing as her while she recovers from a broken leg. Ususally this isn't an issue except for the fact her sister works as a dancer at a gentlemans club. Stacy doesn't want to lose her job and Kylie knows they need the money. Her first night on the job she discovers a dead body and meets the SEXY detective Trevor McCade.

Trevor McCade is working undercover to solve the murder of two guys who frequently went to Dueces and like private dances by Stacy. While working undercover he begins to form a connection with Stacy/Kylie. He knows she is hiding something, but doesn't know what. Will their love survive being built on a lie?

I liked this book. You might need a change of panties when you are done reading it. I think that it didn't really touch enough on finding the killer. Needed more attention focused on that. I am also hoping for a book on Stacy and Ian! Great book Samanthe Beck!!!
