hourglass cover
   ~ Synopsis ~

Best friends since birth, Brooke Reid and Savannah Prescott, spend their days working together at top fashion magazine Hourglass, while enjoying all that the Denver nightlife has to offer – but sharing a man – no way.

One of Denver’s most eligible bachelors, Luke Wellington, can have any woman he wants and he knows it. Putting his player skills to the test, he destroys a friendship and makes two women fall in love with him as he sits back and enjoys the best of both worlds.

Brooke Reid is a woman looking for her happily ever after, and the day she literally ran in to him, she thought she’d found it. Charming, charismatic, a true gentleman – what more could she ask for? Things are going perfectly until her best friend struts in the elevator and claimed his lips right in front of her.

Savannah Prescott is interested in one thing, having a good time with every single man Denver has to offer. Being tied down is too much of a bore for her free spirited ways. Or so she thinks, but when her best friend starts dating her Friday night fling, she realizes she may be ready to turn in her game card and settle down into a real relationship.

When both girls come to the realization that they are after the same man, it means all-out war. Best friends until the end, or at least until him.

I absolutely LOVED this book.  It wasn't something you have read before.  It had me wanting to castrate a certain someone though :)

Savannah and Brooke have been best friends forever.  They are so excited that everything is falling into place with their lives.  Well all except the man issue, but that's all about to change. For the better? Or for worse?

They always said friends forever and no one would come between them, but can they stick by that?  They have for years until the most eligible bachelor Luke/Lucas comes into both of their lives.  He is a player and plays them against each other.

Brooke is the good girl and wants a committed relationship before she has sex.  She is the perfect woman to be a wife.  The girl guys want to take home and meet the family.  But can she keep Lucas all to herself?

Savannah is the fun, carefree woman who enjoys wild nights with guys.  She doesn't mind the one night stands.  She is out to have fun. Though she is starting to want to settle down, but will Luke be the one?

This book is great. It had me laughing in places and pissed in others. You do not want to miss out in this book. It will leave you salivating for more!!!

~ Excerpt ~
Finally! I thought to myself, taking Luke’s face between the palms of my hands and laying an earth shattering kiss on him right in the elevator for my best friend to see. “I’ve been dying to introduce you to my…” Releasing Luke’s face I looked to my left and then to my right. “Where in the hell did she go?”Glancing back at Luke’s panic-stricken face, I tried to figure out why Brooke had bolted. What in the hell is wrong with that woman? Wrapping my arms around Luke’s neck, I kissed his cheek. “You look like you’ve just seen a ghost. What’s wrong?” As he was shaking his head no, I pulled my arms from around his neck and placed them at my side.“Nothing, today is just really busy. Do you know by chance where her office is?”Confused, I scrunched my eyes together. “Who, Brooke?” Luke nodded. “Well of course I do, Luke, that’s my best friend, the one I’ve been dying to introduce you to.”His face turned white as a sheet. “Shit” he mumbled under his breath.I stepped out of the elevator on the ninth floor and walked with Luke toward our parking spaces, he was clearly shaken as beads of sweat were now lining his hairline. “Luke, you’re sweating and I’m not even wearing a revealing top, are you sure you’re okay?” He nodded again. What is wrong with everyone today? I’m dealing with Brooke’s disappearing act, and Luke seems to have swallowed his tongue. “You better be because I’m not in the mood for another rain check tonight.”Winking at him, I hopped into my car and then took off for my photo shoot. I picked up my phone to dial Brooke as I zoomed through traffic. Her cell went straight to voice mail, so I called the office and got the same thing, voice mail. Trying her cell one more time only to be dumped into her voice mail box for the third time, I conceded. “Brooke, what happened to you in the elevator? I wanted to introduce you to Luke. Isn’t he gorgeous? I’ll be out at a shoot all day, so we’ll have to catch up later. In the meantime, Google Lucas Wellington, his pictures are to die for, but nothing compares to the body under those clothes, and most importantly, his huge you know what! Let’s do a quick dinner tonight, my place. I’ll pick up takeout on the way home, and we’ll have Carl sneak us into your new condo for a tour. We’ll have to wrap up early though; I’m planning on having Luke as my dessert. Love you.” After I hung up, I cranked my music up as loud as it would go and sang along with Katy Perry and Juicy J, making up my own lyrics to their chart topper, Dark Horse. “Her love is like a drug, Luke was tryna hit it and quit it. But Savannah is so dope Luke messed around and got addicted”

Blog Tour and Giveaway: A Fighter's Desire by L.P. Dover

~ Synopsis ~

Two is always better than one.

Knowing a fighter’s desires and needs are one thing, but actually experiencing them is another. A Fighter’s Desire gives you not one, but two stories full of hardcore passion, angst, and action that’ll leave you breathless and aching for more.

Part One:

Ryley and Camden Jameson, well-known MMA fighters and identical twins, were just as aggressive and passionate in the bed as they were in the ring. They loved a good fight, and that’s exactly what they got when they met Ashleigh Warren. The brothers had a habit of sharing things—including women—and she happened to be the only one they truly craved. However, the problem was getting her to agree to their proposition. It was one she couldn’t refuse, but she knew it wouldn’t be easy to win. Nonetheless, she sure as hell was going to enjoy it.

Part Two:

Fighting temptation isn’t easy when you’re constantly around the one person you’ve desired more than any other. Gabriella Reynolds was warned by her brother, MMA Heavyweight Champion Matt Reynolds, to stay away from his friends; they only wanted one thing, and in the end they’d break her heart. She heard it, but the desire to have the one man she couldn’t led her down the forbidden path to pursue him; he also happens to be one of her brother’s best friends. Tyler Rushing can’t deny his attraction to her, and he’s afraid she’ll want more than what he can give her. When he finds out that’s not the case … everything changes. They have no choice but to keep their time a secret, and it’s a secret that’ll stay with them forever.

This book was amazing!!! I did not want to sleep and I didn't want it to end, but like all good things they must come to an end.  I just hope we get more of all these characters in more books.  I need more of everyone!!

Part One:
Ashleigh is a spitfire that doesn't take any crap from anyone.  She tries to stay away from the Twins of Terror, but can she?  Will she regret it or will she give in so she doesn't have any what ifs?  She knows what she wants, but will she go after it?  Will she get the one she wants? Or lose everything because of her deal?

Part Two:
Gabby is the sister of an MMA fighter who is over protective and doesn't like to let her have fun.   He is determined to keep her away from his MMA buddies.  He after all knows what they all are liking for and that is a good time.  He doesn't want her getting caught up with one of them. Though she has her sights set on Tyler.  But she can't catch his attention because he knows she is off limits.  Especially since her brother is his best friend.  What happens when she is determined to have just one night with Tyler?  Will he cave? Or will it turn into more?

This is an amazing opening to this series!!! I need more of all these characters though.  I was a little disappointed with how it ended because both parts where left unfinished in my eyes.  I needed some closure. But this book is a must read!!

~ Excerpts ~

PART 1:

“You don’t even know me,” I challenged. “Why do you want me to be your date? You saw me for one second when you were up in the ring. I could be the biggest bitch in the world for all you know.”
“That could be true. If you want the honest truth,” he said, gazing down my body, “I saw you in that red dress and all I could think about was how hot it would be to fuck you in it.”
Holding in my gasp, I tightened my legs together to keep my clit from throbbing out of control. It pissed me off that my body responded to him, but it could also be because he was so close; brushing his heated body against mine, and smelling so amazingly delicious. The wild side of me wanted to tell him to take me right then and there, but the logical side wanted to slap the shit out of him.
“Do you honestly get women by saying stuff like that?” I asked dryly, without a hint of a smile.
His grin grew wider. “Most of the time. So what do you say? Do you want to be my date for the night … the whole night?”
Yes, my mind screamed at me.
“No,” I snapped, making his smug smile disappear. “I’m not one of your little groupies, Ryley, and I sure as hell am not going to beg for your attention like what you’re used to. You need to find someone else. I’m not interested.”
You just lied again, I scolded myself.
Turning on my heel, I headed for the door and opened it, only to be stopped by a hand grasping my arm and the door shutting quickly in front of me. “Don’t you see? I don’t want anyone else. I saw you and you are what I want.”
Laughing, I turned around and yanked my arm out of his hold. “Tell that to someone who’ll believe you, Ryley. I don’t fall that easily, especially for someone who hasn’t had to work for a woman. You’ll have to do much better than that.”
Or else I’m not going to play the game.

PART 2:

Moving closer, he lightly grazed the strap of my blue tank top with his fingers and let them slide down my bare arm. “And what about Ryley? What’s up with him being all over you yesterday?”
I bit my lip and smiled triumphantly. “That was just to see if we could get a rise out of you.” Looking down at his jeans, I said, “And I’d have to say it worked.”
With his hand around my waist, he pulled me in tight against his body and groaned, letting his cock push into my stomach. “You know this will have to be a onetime thing, Gabriella. Your brother will kill me if he finds out.”
Then I guess we need to make sure he doesn’t,” I murmured before closing the distance.

~ Synopsis ~

**ALL FOR THIS is book three in the Here and Now series. It is not a stand-alone and it’s intended to be read after LOST IN ME and FALL TO YOU.**

What if you would never remember the day you made the most important decision of your life?

That’s what they’re telling me about the day of my accident—the day I put on Max’s ring and chose him over Nate. I’m counting on the wisdom behind a decision I don’t remember making.

Max is amazing—sexy, sweet, and kind. I was starting to believe happily-ever-after might be in my future after all. Then the unthinkable happened and my world imploded. If I’m going to make this work with Max, I need my missing memories, or at least answers from about those five days before my accident.

But what does my future hold if those answers aren’t anything like I imagined?

The following excerpt from ALL FOR THIS by its very nature contains spoilers for the first two books in the Here and Now series, LOST IN ME and FALL TO YOU. If you hate spoilers and haven’t read the first two books, I recommend you don’t read any further.

~ Excerpt ~

Max

“How are you holding up? Did it go okay with Nate last night?”
She stiffens at his name. “He asked me to move to LA.”
Of course he did. “And what did you say?”
She blinks at me. “I’m not leaving New Hope. This is my home.”
“He wanted more than for you to move to LA.” I take a step closer. I need to touch her. I wonder if she knows she’s pulling away from me, if she can feel it like I can. It’s as if we’re connected by a thousand little threads like those in a woven rug and they’ve been breaking one at a time since the moment Nate came back into town. With every breath, I feel another thread snap. “He wanted you.”
She shrugs. “I’m already taken.”
I draw in a deep breath. She lifts her hand to my face and skims her fingers along my jaw.
I groan softly and slide my hand into her hair as I lower my mouth to hers. She’s soft and sweet, and I need more of her.
Taking a fistful of her skirt, I yank her dress up around her waist and find the cotton of her panties. She gasps, and I rub her through the fabric as her fingers curl into my back. My lips find her neck and the skin in the sensitive juncture of neck and shoulder.
“Max,” she says. But it’s not the normal breathy, needy whispering of my name. The word is a warning. A yield sign. “Max.”
My hand stills and I pull back to look into her eyes. I’m blindsided by the apology I see there. “Let’s move in together.”
“What?” She blinks at me. If she’s thinking I have the world’s worst timing with important proposals, she’s not wrong.
“We could rent out our apartments and use the money to rent a little place together. Someplace without those stairs that scare the living shit out of me every time I think of you climbing them. Someplace we can make our own.” I take her hand and squeeze. “You didn’t want to move in together last spring because you knew your mom would flip if you lived with a guy before marriage, but we’re not trying to maintain appearances anymore, are we?” She looks at the floor, and I tilt her chin back up so her eyes meet mine. “I could give two shits about appearances. I want to wake up with you in my arms, Hanna. I want to know I’m going to be right there when you need me, every time you need me. You and Claire are all that matter in my world. I want everything that matters to be what I come home to every night.”
“I’m sorry.” She steps back. “I just can’t. I’m too confused right now.”
My lungs burn as I fill them—it hurts to breathe in a world where Hanna isn’t mine.
“I know it’s not fair. And I want a future with you, but…”
“But you can’t stop thinking about him.”
“I can’t move in with you right now,” she says softly. “That wouldn’t be fair to either of us. It’s not that simple.”
“You keep saying that.”
I swallow back the rest of what I want to say right along with my anger, frustration, and the betrayal I’ve never allowed myself to feel. While I was waiting for her to take my ring, she was with another man, and I was never allowed to be angry because that man died and she needed to grieve.
I drag a hand through my hair and look at the ceiling. “Was it that simple when you made love to him?”
“Can we not do this?”
Torment is etched across her face, and I can’t stand to know I’m the one who put it there. I pull her against my chest.
“I won’t rush you, but remember something for me,” I whisper into her hair. “You put on my ring.”

Once a college English professor, I now write full time.  I live in rural Indiana, where, when I'm not writing, I get to hang out with my husband and two kids-a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old hellion, er, girl.  Not surprisingly, reading and writing remains my favorite activities, though both come in bits and pieces these days, not the big hunks of time I enjoyed before I had children.  When I'm feeling virtuous, I like to go running (I use that word liberally.  I'm really, really slow) or I do yoga.  Don't worry, I'm always careful to balance out such activities with a hearty serving of ice cream or a chocolate martini.

This book was really good.  It's a fun, fast read and I was sad to see it end.  I need more.

Jenna is dreading her last year of high school.  She is tired of being bullied. She is known as the school slut all because her ex spread rumors about her. She just brushes it off and tries to ignore it.  But when she finally starts to like another guy she doesn't want to like him because he is her ex's cousin.  She has one person she can trust.  Her best friend Mimi. But can she honestly trust anyone? Can she trust him to not betray her?  Or will she be betrayed again?

Rex doesn't understand how everyone can treat Jenna so badly.  He wants to protect her, but he needs to get her to trust him.  He acts like he wants her and doesn't like Corey, but can he honestly dislike his cousin.  Is he working with his cousin to destroy her life? What will he do for her to gain her trust?  Is he betraying her?  Or is he one of the good guys?

I cannot wait to read more about Jenna, Mimi, Corey, Rex and Ryder.  It's going to be a long wait for these books.  You definitely want to read this book.

Lives intersect only to be changed indefinitely...

Lauren

This isn't your typical girl meets boy.
There isn't a glass slipper or Prince Charming.
I've lived it and now it will be told.
Welcome to my personal hell...

Derrick

I once saved lives and now... I so easily end them.

Women are drawn to me like a moth to the flame, and like the moth not all of them continue on. Some are broken, others are damaged, and a few never make it out... but it's their decision to live. Only they often don't know that until it's too late.

F*ck the rules, I create my own in a world where I have nothing left to lose. Living is a game, and I'm the reigning champion by being stronger and smarter than my prey.

This is your warning. If you radiate vulnerability... Well, you could be my next victim. Don't try to hide. I'm not easily eluded.

Abbot

It started with me and now it will end with me.
Some people call me an uncontrollable killing monster. I f*cking laugh at the mention of the word.
Monsters have no control.
I've got plenty.
I don't kill without reason. I don't kill the innocent.
I hunt the ones that deserve it, the real monsters, the ones without regret or a soul.

This book was really different. It was what I was expecting.  It was a lot darker than I thought.  I wasn't expecting it, but then again I couldn't put the book down because I had to know what happened to Lauren.

Lauren is in London with her fiancé. He is starting a new project and will be there for a year and wanted Lauren to come with him.  Lauren is not sure why she came with him. She isn't sure he is the right man for her.  She finally thinks it's time to stand up for herself when she is devastated.  Then the unthinkable happens and she is kidnapped.  What happens to her?

Abbot is an avenger.  He is out to save woman like his sister.  He feels guilty and will stop at nothing to keep bad guys off the street.  Though people think of him as a monster, but is he really?  Will he realize that he can save everyone? Or will he continue to try?

This book is not for the faint of heart.  This book deals with some tough subject matter, but it is something that does happen.  It is a must read book!  I cannot wait for more books by Lyra!!

~ Prologue ~

The dream is always the same. A black van slows ahead of my sister and me as we walk home from school. When we pass, I hear the side door forcefully slide open and the hinges scream out in protest. Two men attack us. They grab us by our arms and their nails claw into our skin, causing it to break. We try to push them away and somehow manage to wriggle free. Then we run. We run like we've never run before, but they are always faster and stronger. When they catch up to us, one grabs my sister, pushes her down to the ground, and laughs. She bites his arm, leaving teeth marks and blood. This does no good though and only pisses him off. Then he slaps her in the face, yells at her, and threatens to kill her . . . but refuses to let go. They are relentless. I want to tell them that she is only ten years old, that she is no good to them, that she isn't even a woman yet, but a hand covers my mouth and an arm places me in a chokehold. My sister lets out blood-curdling cries, and all I know is that I need to save her. I kick my capturer in the knee, and he slams my body, then my head, into the cement until my vision blurs. I know I have a concussion from the brute force, but I continue to attack with everything that I have. No matter how hard I try, they take her. How can a twelve-year-old boy fight against men? He can't. I couldn't. When I think back to that day, I remember what the sky looked like after they pushed me down. It was blue like the color of the sea in Australia. Not often do I remember the sky in London being that color . . . or feeling so helpless. I'm often haunted by the look on my sister's face, and the sound of her screams and pleas as they shoved her into the van. I can still hear the revving of the engine as it hurried down the street like it was yesterday. That was the last time I felt fear. Those men stole more than my best friend and my sister. That day, they stole my soul. This time, I wake up dripping with sweat. Sometimes I am breathing rapidly or yelling, or my heart is racing so fast it pulls me from the nightmare. For the past fifteen years, I've been haunted with the memory of my sister's abduction. I used to blame myself for her having been taken. I no longer accept that burden, and I refuse to sit idly by. The underground darkness of London is at war with itself, and I've caused it. It will not end until the petty fucks that stalk my streets are destroyed. I will stop at nothing. Some people call me an uncontrollable killing monster. I fucking laugh at the mention of the word. Monsters have no control. I've got plenty. I don't kill without reason. I don't kill the innocent. I hunt the ones who deserve it—the real monsters, the ones without remorse or a soul. Sometimes people strive to be different, to step out of the fucking box, only to be misunderstood. The public doesn't understand me, but who really gives a shit? Who are they? Mice. They go to work every single day and spin the same wheel that gets them nowhere. Work. Marriage. Kids. Die. I search for adventure. I love control. When I find trouble, I make it my bitch. Most people call me Abbot. First name isn't needed. I truly believe there is power in a name. My friends respect me, my enemies fear me, and regardless of what I do, at the end of the day I am still a killer. Apparently, that's what defines me. Son, brother, leader of the Gang of London, protector, murderer . . . the only word that matters is the last one. Shakespeare said, "All the world's a stage." If that's true, then where is my standing ovation for a job well done? Twisted fucks like me don't receive positive recognition. We don't deserve to be rewarded for ridding the world of horrible people, because being a murderer outweighs all the good. An eye for an eye, a finger for a finger, or blood for blood. What-the-fuck-ever. I'm not fucked-up from a horrible childhood, unless one counts my sister's abduction. Everyone tries to blame my life choices on my parents' guidance, but my actions are by choice. My mum and dad loved and supported me. They told me I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, until I became what I am today—a cold-hearted killer. No one expected that one.

The problem with that was that Greyden had always seen her as his. Could he give her up completely for her supposed happiness or could he somehow manage to get his life in order to try and win her back, heart and soul?

~ Review ~
4.5 Stars

This book was really good.  I didn't want to put it down.  It switched from past to present and I would get so frustrated when the chapter would end because I wanted more, but had to wait.  Lol.  One of these days I will read all past chapters first then all the present. Ok I am just joking there!!

Macie has been in love with Greyden all her life.  She knows things about him that his best friends don't.  They may plan a life together when they are younger, but as adults do they get it?

Macie understands Greyden, but is she making the situation worse or helping?  She needs to learn to love him or let him go.
She has been fighting for him for years and he won't commit to her.  After one terrible night she realizes she needs to move on with her life.  She becomes a shell of herself and let's herself take a marriage, babies and the white picket fence promise without thinking of the consequences.  She wants it and has always wanted it with Greyden, but he will never be ready especially if he can have Macie and the freedom to do anything he wants.  Will she finally get her happily ever after?  If so, with who?

Mitch is an ass from day one.  I didn't like him at all.  I wish I could have jumped through the pages and castrated him.

Greyden is very determined to live his life the way he wants and needs too.  He really isn't trying to be selfish even though that is what he is doing.  He wants Macie, but doesn't at that time so he goes his way and expects Macie to wait for him.  And of course she does repeatedly.  Who wouldn't want to be with the only man you've ever loved?  Can Greyden get to the point in his life where he can settle down?  Will he get there before he loses Macie?  Or will Macie marry Mitch?

This book was a little frustrating for me. I definitely recommending reading this book and the first two in the series!!  You will love all the characters involved in these books!!

~ Character Interview ~

1. Macie why didn't you take Graham to the bathroom and have your way with him (when you were with Greydon at the golf event/meeting)?

Whew! (fans herself and gives Heather a shy smile) First, thank God Grey stayed out of the room for this! Second, way to hit me with the hard stuff first Heather! LOL Graham… (sigh) He sure is sexy isn’t he? My heart never questioned whether or not I should sneak of with him. My body on the other hand… well I mean just look at the guy! BUT, my heart belonged to Grey even then. At that time I wasn’t ready to give up what we had in store for our future and there was no way I could betray Greyden like that, not even for someone as delicious as Graham.

2. Macie tell me more about Graham!!  I really liked him.  I know this isn't really a question.

I was completely thrown off balance when I first seen him in the clubhouse. Grey typically has older gentleman as clients that he plays golf with so when I came upon Graham Berkshire I was speechless. I was intrigued when he gave me nothing back in return, he was a bit of a mystery but then the flirting started and my heart rate took of to another realm. (adjusts in her seat) That’s probably all I should say about that.

I’m thinking maybe I need to set YOU up with him! Haha! I’m designing a room in his house for him later this month, maybe you should come along. (Gives Heather a conspiratorial look)

3.  Gray why do you think you deserve Macie?

Ouch. (grabs chest and rubs) I don’t believe I’ve ever said as much but I sure as hell know she’s mine and continue to do anything and everything to be as worthy of her as possible.

4.  Greydon why was it okay for you to sleep around and date anyone you wanted, but Macie was suppose to wait around for you?  (I'm not saying I wanted her to sleep with the whole football team, but I feel you tied her down and didn't let her live her teenage years.  You kissed her at 14 then kept saying how you wanted her then said not till she was 18, but to wait for you while you would then leave and go find any easy willing woman to put out your desire for Macie.). I feel if you ask someone else to do something you should be willing to do the same thing.

You don’t like me very much do you? (Smirks) You’re drilling me more than her brother did when he found out about my history with her. (Shakes his head) Alright, let’s see. It doesn’t make it okay but I was young. I honestly didn’t believe that I could take on a serious relationship with all the other shit I had going on in my life. Asking Macie to save herself did benefit me but it was to protect her, that’s what I was thinking when I asked her to wait until she was 18 to have sex. At that point I was looking at her as my best-friend, my young but extremely smoking hot best-friend… who I couldn’t sleep with. If it makes you feel any better we are very much on an even playing field now… if you get what I’m saying. (Winks at Heather while smiling and showing off his dimples)

5. Macie why did you let Greydon use you for so many years before you tried to move on?

I never felt like that’s what he was doing. The way I saw it was we were together the only way we could be at the time and I wasn’t going to lose that time together over a social nicety or what someone else deemed appropriate. I knew what he could and couldn’t give me for those years and I accepted it until I couldn’t anymore. And look where that got me. ( A look of annoyance crossed her face and Greyden pulled her close to his side)

6.  Greydon why didn't you call Macie when they thought your dad had a heart attack?  Why did you ignore her and go drinking?

Looking back I realize that I wasn’t prepared to be in that relationship. That night had proved exactly what I had been avoiding for years. When I got that call I completely checked out, I wasn’t myself.

7.  Greydon what is one of your biggest regret with Macie?

Unfortunately I have several but that night you referred to in the last question is my ultimate regret. It ruined something pretty damn special between us that was supposed to take place the next day and it seemed like since then it sort of put us on this path of destruction. No matter how hard we tried we couldn’t get anything done the way we planned.

8.  Macie my heart broke for you.  You did everything Grey asked of you.  You waited for him, loved him with everything you had, but he wasn't yours.  Was it a hard to actually trust him when you guys officially got together?

Thank you, you’re going to make me cry. (pats at eyes then continues with a soft smile) No, trust was never an issue with us. We always knew where one another stood. Our lives have been a whirlwind since we’ve actually been back together and it’s been blissfully amazing.

9.  Macie what is one of your biggest regrets?

You’ll never know what would’ve happened if you would’ve done things differently so I try not to do that. Well, actually I play the “What-if” game all the time and Grey has to stop me, but if I could change one thing I never would’ve walked away from him. That’s my biggest regret. No matter the heartache, given what I know now, I would’ve stuck it out forever to get him in the end without any other entities coming in between.

10.  Greyden are you going to ever try and fight professionally?

Nah, I can’t take that away from Declan. Beating your best-friend at his profession would just be wrong. (Grey laughs whole-heartedly and Macie punches him the arm) Seriously though, I’m really happy with where my life is right now and I have no intention of changing that. I can beat Dec’s ass at our home gym. *winks at Heather*

~ Excerpt ~

http://amzn.to/1zV33eK“I can’t make you mine right now, Macie.” He sounded dejected.

“I know,” she whispered across his lips, this time pressing her mouth against his.

“I don’t trust anybody else with you,” he said as she deepened the kiss a little more, but he wasn’t letting her fully in.

She licked his top lip and a small groan came out against his wishes. “I know, Sugar Plum.” She kissed just his bottom lip; being the only participant in the kiss was becoming challenging.

Greyden laughed. “Noooo.” He gripped her face, stopping her ministrations. She scrunched up her nose at him. “Macie, remember our plans?”

She nodded. How could she forget? They had a future together, just not a present.

He tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear. “I promise to keep my mouth shut if you want to date, if you promise to date guys your own age and to be smart.”

Macie’s shoulders sagged in disappointment. That’s not where she was hoping he was going to go with that. “Grey, I don’t—”

“Butterfly,” he slides a finger to her lips effectively shushing her, “I wish I could be that guy for you right now, but I can’t. I know that others can’t either, but apparently you’re going to have to figure that one out on your own. That’s why I ask that you wait ‘til you’re eighteen for the major stuff. Because, Butterfly…God. Macie James, you’re not the girl guys screw around with. You’re the girl guys marry. You’re the girl I’m going to marry.”

Macie gasped in complete shock at his words. Stunned speechless. What does one say to that anyway?

Thankfully, she didn’t have to think too long. Greyden slid off the truck, coming in close contact along her body, not letting her back up. He leaned down, his lips hovering over hers momentarily, just barely brushing them before pressing the sweetest kiss to her hyper aware lips. His lips were soft and warm and Macie wanted to pull him even closer than he already was and open up to him, but that’s not the kind of kiss he was giving her. No, he was giving her a kiss of a promise, a promise of a future, of a friendship and of a love that will only bloom with time, that’s what this kiss was. It was kind of heartbreaking on her end. It may be what he wanted and needed right now, but he just told her he was going to marry her, yet she couldn’t really kiss him, or have him.
