Lick (Stage Dive, #1)

5 Stars by Guest Reviewer Cybill
I really enjoyed reading Lick so I knew this would be great! I loved this one more than the first one, if that is even possible! I loved Ev and Davie's story, I love Mal even more. Of course it could be that I am partial to drummers but anyway. lol
Anne Rollins is a "doormat", recently screwed over by her roommate and left in the lurch for rent. She has always done everything for everyone else and nothing for herself. She is a people pleaser. Giving up high school to raise her little sister and take care of things her mother should have, but her mother was present in body only. Now her "doormat" tendencies have followed her into adulthood. On one of the worst days of her life, when everything is falling apart, she meets her teenage crush Mal.
Malcom Ericson "Mal" is the drummer for the hot rock band Stage Dive. He is moody, manic, funny and possibly ADHD. Mal wants someone that will stand up to him. He met Anne at a party and after copious amounts of alcohol he professed that she is his new girlfriend who only has "crazy eyes" for him and they are moving in together. Then he walked in on Davie and Ev, in a make out session in the kitchen and there was an accidental boob viewing, Davie kicked him out. He moves in with an unknowing Anne. She needs help and he needs a fake girlfriend. It's a win-win situation. Right!?
Mal and Anne's relationship is anything but normal. He won't reveal why he needs a fake girlfriend and she won't reveal why she is a doormat. They decide to not have sex in their fake relationship because he doesn't want her to go all "Fatal Attraction" on him. After sharing a surprise kiss that will make your toes curl and your insides turn to mush, all bets are off.
Both new to the whole relationship concept things get a little rocky. Anne has wanted her friend Reese for 2 years but Reese is a man-whore who is just another person who uses Anne for what she will give. When he see's her with Mal things start to get interesting.
This is a wonderfully hilarious story that will having you laughing out loud. I loved Mal and Anne is his perfect counterpart. Both are emotionally stunted where love is concerned and dealing with Mal is a full time job. I definitely recommend this, and I am highly anticipating the next book.
