Release Day Event and Giveaway: Good by S. Walden

~ Synopsis ~

Cadence Miller is a good girl. She just happens to make one terrible mistake her junior year in high school which costs her ten months in juvenile detention. Now a senior, she’s lost everything: her best friend, the trust of her parents, driving privileges, Internet access. It’s a lonely existence.

But there is one bright spot: Mark Connelly, her very cute, very off-limits 28-year-old calculus teacher. She falls hard for him—a ridiculous schoolgirl crush headed nowhere. She can’t help it. He’s the only good thing at Crestview High. She doesn’t expect him to reciprocate her feelings. How inappropriate, right? But he does. And he shows her.

And that’s when her life goes from bad to good.

~ Our Review ~
4 Star Review by Heather

This book is about a teacher/student relationship, so if you don’t like those type of books this book probably isn’t for you.   I really enjoyed it and normally I don’t care for them because of the age difference, but they were close in age.

“Sending a tool to go get some tools,” I said. “Clever.”

Cadence is starting her senior year of high school.  She is trying to regain her parents trust and get her friends back after a huge mistake her junior year landed her in juvi.  She ends up falling for her math teacher, Mark.  She doesn't pursue him, but has a hard time saying no to him.  She is shocked that he would want to be with her.  Can they have a relationship?  Or will they get caught?

“I will always be there, whatever happens.”

Mark is a math teacher at the high school Cadence attends.  He first saw her when she was doing litter patrol in juvi. He had an instant attraction her.  He was shocked when she walked into his math class.  He tried to stay away, but she was so sad all the time and looked like she needed a friend.  He wanted to help her feel better.  He tried to keep it platonic, but the attraction was too hard to fight.  Can they have a relationship?  Or is it doomed before it starts?

“It’s not conditional. I don’t love you because you love me.  I love you because I love you.”

This book was really good, but it is a cliffhanger.  I didn't realize this when I read it, but it is still definitely worth the read.

~ About S. Walden ~

S. Walden used to teach English before making the best decision
of her life by becoming a full-time writer. She lives in Georgia
with her very supportive husband who prefers physics textbooks over fiction and has a difficult time understanding why her characters must have personality flaws. She is wary of small children, so she has a Westie instead. Her dreams include raising chickens and owning and operating a beachside inn on the Gulf Coast (chickens included). When she's not writing, she's thinking about it.
