5 Star Review by Annie
Love Me Back will have you holding your breath in anticipation. Never knowing what is going to happen from one page to the next. This is not your average love triangle. This is the story of a girl whose heart is being pulled in two different directions. The twist is the boys doing the pulling are….brothers!
Maddy and Trent have always been best friends. The only problem is Maddy has always wanted more. For as long as she can remember she has been in love with Trent. She just knew they would always be together. So when their relationship finally turns into a romance Maddy falls head over heels fast. The only problem is Trent flip flops and strings Maddy along. They constantly are going from friends to lovers and then back to friends again. The cycle just continues over and over. That is until life gets complicated, and Trent decides to bail on Maddy when she needs him most. Gabe, Trent’s brother, steps up and befriends Maddy. He will be there to support her when his brother cannot. Gabe and Maddy started to develop a friendship and pretty soon the lines started to get blurred. Gabe knows that no matter what happens Maddy will always choose Trent. So he backs away, but it is already too late. Feelings have already been established.
What do you do when your heart is torn in two? Do you go for the one who you always picture yourself with or do you go with the one who you can’t seem to live without? Fate is a funny thing. Sometimes life is already planned out for you; you just have to open your eyes and your heart to accept it.
Love Me Back kept me intrigued the whole way through. This book had the power to draw you in and not let you go until the very last sentence of the book. I loved the relationships and friendships throughout this book, whether it was the major or minor characters or the bigs and the littles.
I normally do not like books that flash from past to present, but Michelle Lynn made it work. The flow was perfect. The storyline was perfect. Everything was perfect. Even though there was an epilogue, I would still love a follow up book! This book was amazing and it will definitely be added to my top books of 2013.
Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. ;)
Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.
