Rock Star Blog Tour and Giveaway: Jaded & Faded by Mercy Amare

 Synopsis for Jaded

I'm Scarlett Ryan.

Yes, THAT Scarlett Ryan.

I live an extraordinary life: millionaire rock star, owner of exotic cars, pictures of me in every magazine, millions of fans, and a name that is recognized world wide. It's supposed to be my dream come true. But, my life IS a fantasy, and I want real. I want exciting. I want... NORMAL. So, I moved from California to Florida, hoping to obtain some normalcy. Instead I find...

Stephan Montgomery.

He's an arrogant jerk. Seriously, I hate him. I swear if he tells me one more blonde joke, I will punch him... again... Unfortunately I can't stop thinking about him, or his gorgeous green eyes. Trust me, I know that he's bad for me. If only my heart would listen.

I also find out that my parents have kept a LIFE CHANGING secret from me. I need to know the truth.

The harder I strive for normal, the stranger things seem to get.

3.5 Star Review by Annie

Jaded is a fast, fun YA book. With a storyline had more twist and turns then a corkscrew.
Scarlett Ryan is tired of being everyone’s perfect pop princess. She just wants to be herself.  So she decides to take a break and finish off her senior year being a typical normal girl, but she forgets that no matter what she will never be just a normal teen.
“Guys I am human. I shit too…” After a short pause, I ask, “Am I allowed to say shit?”
Her first day of high school she meets two hot stepbrothers, Ethan and Stephan.  Ethan becomes Scarlett’s best friend and tutor. While Stephan is the most annoying obnoxious boy Scarlett has ever met, but for some reason she just can’t get over that pretty smile and bright green eyes.
“My heart is screaming at me to take a chance and go for it. But my head is telling me to stop, because he is going to break my heart.”
Along the way she finds out that her family isn’t at all what she thought it was.  Scarlett has to learn how to deal with the bumpy ride called life.
The book was filled with not only sweet touching moments, but a lot of hot sexual tension.  I cherished all the characters in this book, and I was rooting for them all to succeed in life. It was uplifting to read a book where a teenage girl is independent, sensible and is well grounded.
This book has a cliffhanger, but it is nothing that will have you screaming and throwing your expensive reading device against the wall.

Synopsis for Faded
I left Hope – the only place I’ve ever felt at home. So now what? Where do I go from here?

When I left, I didn’t just leave my home. I left my friends, my sisters, and Stephan… I just found them. I can’t lose them now.

I know that I want to do MY music. I need to remember WHY I wanted to play music in the first place. And the only way to get that is by firing my dad, but that may be harder than I thought.

On top of everything, I now have cameras following me around everywhere. Even my own home isn’t safe anymore.

I’ve come to realize that normal will never be an option for me.

Our Review
4 Star Review by Annie
“Life is about taking chances. It’s about taking risks, no matter what the stakes. When I die I want to be able to say that I lived life to the fullest. I want to have no regrets. Because if you play it safe your whole life, are you really living?”
Mercy Amare did an amazing job continuing the story of my favorite pop princess and the hot boy next door. Faded didn’t let me down. I was hooked into the lives and drama of the characters.
“I don’t know how many more ways that I can say this, but you are mine. I’m offering forever here.”
Scarlett Ryan’s natural instinct is to run from all her problems, but not this time. This time she is going to stand up for herself and fight for the things she wants. The only thing standing in her way is herself and her fears. Does Scarlett let all her demons destroy the family she built, the friends she made and the boy she loves?
“What would Bieber do?”
I liked Jaded, but I absolutely loved Faded. The characters were more relatable and the writing was amazing.
I loved how Scarlett’s character grew; we got to watch her go from a naïve pop star to a confident woman. As if you didn’t already love Stephan enough this book showed him in a different way that made you fall even more in love with him. I loved the secondary characters just as much as the main characters, and I hope we get to learn more about them as the series continues.
The sexual tension and back and forth in this book drove me crazy. I also was surprised to find that this book ended with another cliffhanger. I am officially counting down the days until Hated (Rock Star #3) comes out!

Playlist

Gold Trans Am by Ke$ha – if the Rock Star Trilogy was a TV show, this would be it’s theme song. I listened to it constantly while writing both Faded & Hated.
Beverly Hills by Weezer.
Battle Scars by Lupe Fiasco.
Kiss You by One Direction – I feel like this song fits Scarlett’s personality. I like to listen to it when I write flirty scenes with Scarlett & Stephan.
Too Close by Alex Clare – I felt like though Faded, this was Scarlett’s song. Everything was just out of reach for her…
Hands All Over by Maroon 5 – I used this for all the super hot scenes ;)
One and Only by Adele.
She’s Not Afraid by One Direction.
5 Minute of Fame by Barlow Girl – this song is for Mona!
Marry You by Bruno Mars – karaoke scene… That is all I have to say about that!
