Taking this as a sign it was time for a new move, they decided to take a cruise, regroup, and make a plan.

~ Excerpt ~

The new guy sat down.  I stared over at him.  “Hey, don’t mind me.  I just ended up getting drawn into your little charade.  Hope you don’t mind if I enjoy my meal while we keep up appearances?”  He smiled

“Nope.  We’re good,” I replied.

Though I was smiling at him, I had little to say.  There was so much going on in my mind…and thanks to Jolie, having an orgasm wasn’t part of that.  Still, I wasn’t going to turn down the possibility of some amazing guilt-free sex with a hot guy for anything.   Only I wasn’t sure how to gain his attention.  My smile hadn’t worked.  The kiss hadn’t accomplished anything.  What was it going to take to get a man like that to be interested in spending a few meaningless days on a cruise with me?  Guess I’d simply have to try the direct approach.

“Are you married?”  If that didn’t break the ice, nothing would.

“No,” he said, cocking his head.

I leaned in.  “Really?  Because you look like the marrying kind.”  I took another bite of my potato salad.

Throwing his head back to laugh, he said, “I run too fast.  No one can catch me, let alone keep up!”

“Thank you for saving me.  I’m here with my friend.  She is napping right now.  I’m not used to having to fend off guys anymore,” I admitted as I kept on eating.  Isn’t it nice when you don’t want anything from someone and you can just be yourself?  That was the freedom I felt around Mr. Bedroom Eyes.

He smiled and I saw he started to extend his hand.  I knew he was about to introduce himself, so I stopped him.  “Listen, you can tell me your name, but I’m just going to forget it.  I’m lousy with names.”

“Okay, so we’re not exchanging names?  Is there anything you would like to exchange?”  He smirked.

“Yes, as a matter of fact.  How about bodily fluids?”  I smiled and stared at him with a suggestive look.

He…choked on his Coke.  When he finally stopped coughing, I was about finished eating.  I don’t let much come between my food and me even if I don’t look like it.

“Sorry, I’m not used to women being so direct,” he said with a smile as he wiped his face.

“I don’t play,” I said honestly.  Then I stood.  I am known for my exits.  As I turned, giving him full view of what I considered my best feature, I shot over my shoulder, “Think about it.”  Then I walked away.  Always…and I mean always leave them wanting more.  I didn’t have to look back to know that he was staring at me.  Let him stare.  With my head up and shoulders back, I headed to the elevator.

Getting close to her and being the one to make her smile are simply perks of the job.

3.5 Star Review by Annie
“How do I put this…… He’s a shark, babe. You need a guppie.”

Running from her past Avery moved far from her home to go off to college leaving behind her two dads that adopted her and the secret that could ruin her. She hides away from everything and everyone secluding herself and not fully getting the college experience. So, when her roommate and friend beg, plead and finally give her no other option she gives in and attends a college party. What she wasn’t expecting is to meet Jase, the playboy of Delta Sig fraternity. Jase challenges her and makes her want to do things she was once afraid to even try. Will this finally help her to escape her past or does she continue to live in her self-made bubble?
“What a pair we make sitting out here alone in the dark. I’m running from my past, and he’s trying to discover his future.”
The whole campus thinks of Jase as the womanizing pretty boy, and at one point they may have been right. He once used sex and partying to cope with all of his family problems, but now Jase is trying to turn a new leaf and be more that what people expect of him. The only problem is he has never met a girl he was willing to open up for. That is until one night at a party he saw a sexy girl who happened to look more damaged then him. Can Jase move on and discover who he is, while helping Avery get over her past?
“You want to be my human sexuality tutor? That’s original. And not douchey at all.”
The Impact of You was a fun, fast read. It had a lot of potential to be the most amazing book ever, but the lead character was just not relatable.  I really loved Jase’s character he was sexy, funny, compassionate and to top it off he has a little bit of cockiness that just made you want to get to know him better. Jase is definitely swoon worthy. On the other side of the spectrum you had Avery, that woman just drove me crazy. I hated how one minute she was one way and then literally the next paragraph she was almost like another person altogether. This made it hard to relate to her because you never felt like you really knew who she was. Her character alone was the reason I gave this book a 3.5 Star Review.'

If you haven't read Destined to Change you need to. This is where we are first introduced to Cade.  I didn’t like Cade that much in that book, but after reading his story I am in love!!

Cade is a sexy womanizing cowboy.  He lost the only girl he would ever love when he was sixteen so he decided that he would just sleep with anyone willing and not build any relationships.  He had his heart broken at the end of Book one, but that wasn't because he was in love. He was heartbroken because he wanted a wife and kids. Can he finally get the family he wants? Can he give up a new women every day to be with the same one for the rest of his life?

Suzanna is a beautiful girl who is in love with Cade. They met when they were nine and have been best friends ever since.  She was in love with Cade, but was afraid to tell him, because she didn't want to ruin their friendship. So she moved on with the town asshole Branch.  He was a womanizer also, but she didn't care because she didn't love him. She ended up marrying him and then realized she made the biggest mistake of her life. Can she get over her past and make her life right? Does she finally find love with Cade?

This is an amazing book. It has a really good story line. Just when you think everything is going perfect there is a twist thrown in. Cade and Suzanna definitely have their work cut out for them to actually make a relationship last. I highly recommend this series to read.

~ Author Bio ~
I grew up in a really small town in Missouri. Very similar to the fictional town I wrote about in my novel. I moved to the big city right after I graduated. I work full-time and I am mom to a beautiful little girl. I started writing in October when a group I am in had a prologue contest. I didn't win the contest, but everyone who read my prologue asked for more of my story. I decided I had to finish it and get these characters that were in my head out on paper. During the writing process it became clear that this was going to be more than one novel. It had to be a series. I have at least 2 more novels planned for the Destined Series. I also have an idea for a YA novel that stems from one of the characters in Destined to Change...hint, hint. When I was asked to write this bio I explained that I am really boring and it would be really short...so, that's about all there is to know about me. I love music and honestly couldn't have written this book without my Spotify playlist. I am kinda obsessed with frogs (not real ones) and office supplies are my downfall! I could spend my whole paycheck at the stationery store...boring, didn't I already say that? lol Also, I am slightly addicted to Facebook and Voxer. Please message me on either one...I would love to hear from all of you.

     ~ Author interview ~

Do you remember how/when your interest in writing started?  I've always loved writing, primarily focused on journaling.  I remember a time when I was typing an entry and I thought it would be really cool if I could write my entry and it would be “out there” for whoever had to see it – this was before blogging.

What were the challenges (research, psychological, and logistical) in bringing this story or characters to life? The biggest challenge I faced writing was time.  As a single mom and full-time employee who has a very demanding boss, I had to carve out the time. I basically considered sleep optional, and that's saying a lot because I love sleep. I existed on copious amounts of Diet Pepsi and chewed lots of Extra Sugar-Free gum.

What was the easiest part of writing THE DO OVER? I loved writing Rick.  Believe it or not, his voice was the first one I had in my head.  It probably had something to do with the fact that I've dated so many Rick's in my life.

What is your favorite scene or was your favorite to write? Don’t forget to tell us why. :) I loved writing the funny scenes.  The easiest one to write was the intervention.  While a work of fiction, I have been accused of pretty much all of those things at one point or another.  I also had a blast writing the scene where the guys are out drinking and Liam is giving Rick the 101 on women. Rick and Maddy scenes were fun too because I worked out some of my own frustrations. Probably the most endearing for me was writing the epilogue. It was the hardest the write but toward the end, I felt Liam's words and his heart and that was the most touching—I think we all want our happy ever after.

What’s next for you writing wise that you can share with us?  I am continuing with Maddy and Rick's story.  It's Not Over is scheduled for release later this year. While many people disliked the dynamic duo, no one could deny their chemistry and how well they worked together.  Will Rick be the man to crack that thick wall around her heart and will Madison be the woman who brings Rick to his knees? Stay tuned.

Review: Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely

~ Synopsis ~

Sometimes you can't help falling in love, even when you try to do the opposite...

Successful fashion blogger McKenna Bell has spent far too long protecting herself after the way her ex-fiancé left her at the altar for a college chick he met the night of his bachelor party. Loving again, trusting again, well, that's just not in the cards. Especially now that her ex is back in town with his new woman, demanding custody of McKenna's favorite creature in the whole world--her dog.

No effing way. McKenna's had enough of him, and she decides to even the score by finding her own hot young thing -- a Trophy Husband. Sure, she's only twenty-seven, but doesn't that make it even more fun -- and infuriating to her ex -- to pursue a younger man?

When she declares her intentions on her daily blog, her quest quickly skyrockets in popularity, and that's when Chris enters the picture, and he’s got all the assets. He's handsome, successful, and turns her inside out with a kiss to end all kisses, the kind that makes you feel like a shooting star.

But loving again could mean losing again, and it's so much easier to focus on getting even, isn't it? Unless, you just can't help falling in love. Which means McKenna will have to come face to face with what she really wants in life -- protecting her heart from hurt, or letting go of her fears of a new beginning.

~ Our Review ~
3.5 Star Review by Annie

What do you get when you mix a scorned woman and video blog? You get a quest for all woman that men aren’t the only ones who can get arm candy.
The day before McKenna was supposed to walk down the aisle with the guy she has been with for 9 years, she gets the surprise of a lifetime. A phone call calling off the wedding. Her fiancé ran off and got married to a younger girl he meet while celebrating his bachelor party. He destroyed her heart, but he didn’t stop there. Every time she turns around he is finding new ways to hurt her and torture her a little more.

So in order to show the world and Todd that woman can do the same thing that men do, McKenna devises a plan to find a trophy husband. Her friend and her set rules:  He can’t be older than twenty-three, he has to be smoking hot and have a rock hard body.  Little did she know the trophy husband search would take on a life of its own.
Everything is going great, until McKenna meets Chris.  Since the moment McKenna met Chris she cannot stop thinking and fantasizing about him. The only problem is Chris doesn’t meet the trophy husband guidelines.  Does McKenna find what she is looking for?

Trophy Husband is a fun light hearted romance that has a whole lot of sexual tension and fantasy. I loved the chemistry between McKenna and Chris. They have an undeniable attraction that made me squirm around in my seat.  This book had some slow parts, but overall was a great read.

~ Our Review ~
4 star review by Heather

This book started off a little slow, but a quarter of the way through it picked up and got really interesting.  I then didn't want to put it down.  In its own way it is a love triangle.

Hadley is a girl still trying to find where she belongs.  She graduates college and goes off to Europe with her best frined Auden for a month.  She gets really sick and has to come home early.  This ends up being a good thing.  She has to turn down a teaching position at the high school, but ends up working teaching adults with disabilities and loves this job.  She can't picture having a more rewarding job.  Since coming home from vacation her and her boyfriend of six years Tucker are not getting along well.  He is a jerk and decides he is going to break things off with her the same night she has a secret to tell him.  She soon realizes that just because it wasn't in your life plan doesn't mean it can't turn into an AMAZING thing.  She runs into Jason, Auden's older brother.  It has been a while since she has seen him.  She is amazed to find that the attraction she has had for him since she was eight is still there.

Jason is an amazing writer.  He has a chance run in with Hadley one day when she is on a field trip with her clients(the adults she teaches).  He then realizes that day that he wants to let Hadley know that he has had feelings for her for several years.  That he is willing to fight Tucker for her and show her who the better man is.  Can he be the better man?  Can there love they hid from each other grow into something BIG?  Can they overcome the obsticles thrown at them?

This book was really good.  I love that we learn that we can do things even if it wasn't in our original plans.  Not everything has to be planned out.  It was an amazing journey that Hadley and Jason went on to get where they did.  I really wanted to give this book 5 Stars, but it was a little too slow at the beginning for me.  I would recommend reading it.  I hope that Auden will get a book.
