5 Stars

I loved this book. It was an amazing read.  I didn't know anything going into this book except it was Seth's book.  It was one of my favorite in the series.

Seth has had a rough life.  From the time he was a kid until he finally found his girl.  He went through a lot of heartache and it helps us understand why he was the way he was with Tabitha.  He had a lot of learning and help to get to be the man he wanted to be.

Juliet had a perfect life until that moment when she heard her parents talking about a letter.  She knew she was adopted, but she didn't know about a letter.  She let this letter consume her.  She almost lost everything because of it.

Watching the struggles that both Seth and Juliet had was heartbreaking.  To see them come together through all of these heartbreaking moments was even more special.  Sometimes the one thing you need most is right in front of us.  We may not know it, but hopefully one day we'll realize it before it's too late.

5 Stars

I started this book and had trouble putting it down. It was so hard to go to work because I NEEDED to know what would happen next!
Let me just say this book wasn't what I thought. That's a good thing!!! I was thinking it was a comedy and the whole book had me so broken hearted. But I LOVED it!!

Quinn has been in love with her best friend Chace for years. She doesn't think she'll ever lose him. That is until Finely walks into their lives. Finely becomes their best friend also. They are know as the trio. Quinn tries to be happy for her friends, but is sad. She plots to go away without them knowing. She wants to learn to live by herself. Can she break free of them? Or will everything fall apart?

Chace is happy with his life. He has the coolest best friend and an amazing girlfriend. It helps that the two most important girls in his life are best friends. They all do everything together. He doesn't see Quinn as more than a friend until one night when everything changes. He doesn't know how to fix everything that has become broken. Can he fix his errors before it is broken beyond repair?

This book is a definite must read.  You'll be wanting to jump in and try to fix everything. You'll fall madly in love with Greg also!! He is amazing!! I am sad this book had to end. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to everyone!

~ Excerpt ~

Greg isn’t a bad looking guy. He’s not even slightly bad looking. In fact, he’s extremely good looking with his brutish looks. But that’s the thing – he’s just too beefy for my taste. He’s thick all over. Well, from what I can see, and what I’ve heard, he is. Which is good for him since most people think buff guys usually suffer from teeny weeny syndrome and they’re just trying to overcompensate in other ways.
His head is typically filled with blonde locks, but he shaved it off this summer. Maybe it was some sort of rugby initiation or whatever weird sport he’ll be playing in college.
“Excuse me, Greg?”
His head swings my way as if he was just waiting for me to call his name. His smile is wide and his hazel eyes are bright. He’s genuinely a happy guy. And that’s what I like about him. That’s why I’m able to look past his player ways and enjoy his company.
I do a quick glance up his muscly body from feet to face. His tan, smooth-looking legs are crossed at the ankle, reaching the other side of the truck as they’re stretched out. The colorful, geometric print trunks fully engulf his thighs, which is a plus. Guys shouldn’t wear more fitted clothes than I do. Then there’s his tank top. The non-existent fabric bunches loosely in the middle of his torso.
“Yes, Quinn?” he smirks.
“Your chesticles are showing.”
He glances down and laughs. “Is that a problem?”
“No.” I pop a grape in my mouth. “I just can’t stop staring.”
He laughs even harder and I try my best to refrain from it myself. I’m not looking to choke on a grape as we drive down the highway.
“Make em’ pop,” I demand as I lift my sunglasses to the top of my head for a better view.
“Do what?”
“You know.” I sit my grapes down and hold my hands in front of my own chest, moving my hands up and down. “Make them pop, dance, jiggle. Hell, make them rain for all I care. They have to be capable of doing something cool.”
“Oh, hell yeah. I’ve had that shit down since the seventh grade.” He straightens his back and positions his arms in some weird flex in front of him. Then he begins to make them pop, drop and lock it. I giggle like a little girl as I watch. His face makes it all the better as he seems to be straining. He looks constipated.
Without any inclination, I toss a grape at his tits. And with perfect precision he bounces his man boob just in time to deflect it. I play catch with his chest a little while longer before finally putting my earbuds in and relaxing.

4.5 Stars

This is an amazing quick read. I really enjoyed reading about Pris and Rand.  I loved the banter back and forth between the two of them.

Pris isn't sure how to deal with her brother and best friend being together.  She's happy for them, but sad she'll be losing her roommate.  She doesn't set out to find a man, but when the mysterious Rand shows up at the meet and greet she is intrigued.  She wants to know more about him and she throws caution to the wind and does something completely out of the ordinary.  She leaves and gets to know him a little.  Or so she thinks.  What will she do when she finds out who Rand really is?

Rand had plans once he set his sight on Pris.  He was going to get her in his bed and find a way to weed out the competition.  Once he meets her though he knows he should tell her who he is if he really wants a shot with her, but he decides to wait, but what happens when that blows up in your face?  Can he fix it? Or is he stuck with one night?

These are fun little novellas.  I can't wait for the next one this summer.

Release Day Blitz: The Consequence of Loving Colton by Rachel Van Dyken

RELEASE DATE: APRIL 21, 2015

~ Synopsis ~

It’s all fun and games…until someone’s heart is broken.

They’re not kids anymore, but Milo Caro is certain that Colton Mathews will only see her as his best friend’s little sister for the rest of their lives. After all, he made that clear the night before she left for college. But four years later, her brother is getting married and Colt’s the best man—and guess who is the best man’s last-minute date?

Milo vows to use the wedding to either claim the smoldering firefighter’s heart or douse this torch for good. When Max—her best friend from college, who may be carrying a torch of his own—crashes the party, they devise a plan to make Colt see what he’s missing. But after Colt catches on, he decides to cook up his own revenge.

Now it’s personal. Colt and Milo are at war, and between Max’s questionable acting methods, an unfortunate trip to jail, and a maniacal fiancée, what could possibly go right?

I slept like crap all night—proving my point again. All men should burn in hell. I switched between nightmares of Colton’s rejection and dreams of Max riding in to rescue me on a giant-ass aloe vera plant.
Groaning, I tossed and turned, finally falling into a deep sleep around two a.m.
“Fire!” A voice penetrated my dreams. “Fire! Wake up!”
I jolted out of my bed to see Max sitting calmly at the end. He had two Starbucks cups in hand and was sporting a pair of black skinny jeans, a blue V-neck T-shirt, and a smile that looked like it belonged on the cover of GQ.
“Hey, you’re awake.” His grin widened.
“Yeah, weird, I thought there was a fire.”
He handed me the coffee. “There is. In your pants.”
“Pardon?”
“Because you’re a liar.” He patted my leg and shook his head. “Do I even want to know how this happened? Or was it the usual?”
“Usual?” My voice was gravelly, I took a large sip of coffee—it did wonders for my mood.
“Yeah, the usual Milo freak-out where you speak before you think. Typically involves lots of cursing, yelling, sometimes a fight breaks out, and I always end up having to fix it.”
My face burned.
Max nodded. “The usual, then. Gotcha.”
“Why are you here? What time is it?”
“Five a.m.,” he answered. “Your mom’s a fox, by the way, I swear she checked my ass out twice as I walked up the stairs.”
“She did not.”
“Your dad did the same. Ten bucks says your mom asks where I got my jeans and buys him a pair—oh, and by the way, you owe me big. I finally asked out the Starbucks girl and had to cancel our date on account that my other girlfriend”—his eyes narrowed—“had an emergency.”
I winced. “Please tell me you didn’t explain it that way to her.”
“Course not. I said my asthmatic little sister had an attack and almost died screaming my name . . .”
“You don’t have a sister.”
“Little Maddie’s screams were so loud, all she wanted was her big brother Max.”
“Who’s Maddie?”
“And I can’t deny her the one thing she wants in life, the one thing that makes her go on living.” Max wiped a fake tear. “I’m a broken man, Milo, and sisters are more important than dates.”
“I’m sure she was understanding.”
Max grinned. “You could say that.”
“Gross.”
“What?” He held up his hands. “I’m a guy. Just because you labeled me your gay friend freshman year does not actually make it true.”

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Free Me by Laurelin Paige

Title: Free Me
Series: The Found Duet Book One
Author: Laurelin Paige
Publication Date: December 9, 2014

~ Synopsis ~

Her story began long before she started working at The Sky Launch...

Screw fairytales. The only reward Gwen Anders got from her rough childhood was a thick skin and hard heart. She’s content with her daily grind managing a top NYC nightclub—Eighty-Eighth Floor. So hers isn’t a happily ever after. She doesn’t believe in those anyway.

Then she meets J.C.

The rich, smooth talking playboy is the sexiest thing that Gwen has ever encountered, but she’s not interested in a night-in-shining latex. But when a family tragedy pushes her to the brink, it’s J.C. who’s there to teach her a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires. His no-strings-attached lessons require her to abandon her constant need for control. Her carefully built walls are obliterated.

Gwen discovers there’s a beautiful world outside her prison. Freedom is exhilarating—and terrifying. When she starts to feel something for J.C., she fears for her heart. Especially as she realizes that he has secrets of his own. Secrets that don't want to set him free.

BOOK ONE OF TWO. This series can be read alone or with the Fixed Trilogy.

~ Review ~
4 Stars

Gwen was first introduced to us in the Fixed Trilogy. While she wasn't a big character in those books, some were still left wondering who she really was and what was she running from? Now you find out... or at least you learn half the story.

Gwen is a manager of a bar called the Eighty-Eighth when she meets JC, a man who can see that Gwen is up tight and in need of some help. JC offers a no-strings attached offer to help her loosen up. No names, no attachments. The only problem is that they fall for each other. And he's hiding something. Will their love survive the anonymity? Or will the secrets destroy them?

This book was hard for me at first. And I really needed time to think about sine things. The reason I gave this book 4 Stars is because I had trouble identifying with the characters. For the secret that JC is hiding, I found it difficult to believe he would be in the type of club he was in, with the amount of money he had. I was relieved to hear he wasn't a "bad" guy that Gwen had fallen for. Gwen has had too much trouble for such a young woman and I really wanted her to find happiness. She's very lost. It was almost too much drama for one person to deal with and it made me question why I was reading something so depressing.

With that being said, Laurelin Paige is an amazing author. She has a way with words that has me hanging on and still curious enough to know how the next book will play out. That is why I gave it 4 stars. I still feel the urge to read this duet because I want to see Gwen get her happily ever after. It takes a special author to hold your attention even when you're squirming inside.

Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: A Perfect Ten by Linda Kage

~ Synopsis ~

Let your hair down, Caroline, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

I know I've closed myself off in a major way in the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up completely. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.

Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye.

4 Stars

This book was a little on the long side for me.  It was good, but I found that it didn't hold my attention the whole time.  But I wasn't a huge Ten fan going in.  I mean he was growing on me, but he isn't my favorite Forbidden Man!!

Caroline has wanted Oren since she met him.   She knows she shouldn't want him, but there is something that draws her to him.  She wants to forget about him.  He makes he life hell, but she still forgives him.   Will she finally get her wish and have Oren?  Or will he ruin everything she feels for him by pushing her away?

Oren AKA Ten, wants Caroline but he won't touch her because of her brother.  Her brother Noel is his best friend and has warned him to stay away from Caroline.  He fights his desire for her, but with each day it's growing harder to stay away.  He tries to make her hate him, but she is the most forgiving person he knows.  Can he finally convince Noel to give him a shot with Caroline?  Or will he risk everything for her?  Or does he finally commit the one act that pushed her out of his life for good?

I have loved this whole series.  I was really looking forward to this book.  It was a little long and I didn't feel the ending.  It felt off to me.  But it's another amazing read by Linda Kage!!!  Can't wait to meet the new characters who will star in the next book!!!

~ Excerpt ~

“Yo, Ham. I’m heading out.” He appeared out of nowhere beside me to tap our table and get his roommate’s attention.
I yelped because I hadn’t even noticed him moving toward our table. With a low growl, I scowled at him for startling me...or maybe for leaving now, because that meant he was still planning on meeting Kelly. The ass.
He met my gaze and paused. Reading something—though I’m not sure what—from my face, he leaned close to talk into my ear. “What? You’re not still mad at me for chasing off that little boy, are you?”
I sniffed and lifted my chin. “You’re never going let me date anyone without any kind of interference, are you?”
He watched me a moment longer, his intent expression harboring all his thoughts. Then he leaned in again. “How about this? If you ever find anyone good enough for you, I will step back and let you at him without even a single fuck-off glare in his direction.” Then he leaned even closer. “Problem is, I don’t think anyone will ever be good enough for the likes of you, baby doll.”
When he reached out slowly and caught a tendril of my hair, the achiest look entered his eyes. He studied the piece of hair he was methodically winding around his finger, and the way he watched it was just...I knew that look and recognized it intimately. Every time I saw him, I felt it rising from my own core, wanting, yet helpless to take.
A shudder wracked me. Once upon a time I’d told Zoey that if I knew for certain Oren really, truly liked me—liked me the way I liked him—I wouldn’t let Noel keep us apart. And I’d meant it.
I still meant it.
“Even you?” I asked him.
His eyes flashed at the question. “Especially me.”
