~ Excerpt ~

“Hey, sweet thing,” I whispered to her.
“Oh, don’t you sweet thing me. You liar.” She turned to walk in the direction of her friends, but I tugged at her elbow and spun her around.
“Hey, what’s this all about? I knew you looked pissed for some reason, but why am I a liar?” I seriously had no fucking clue what she was talking about.
She said one word, “Marissa.” And instead of it clearing things up it just made me all the more confused.
“What about her? You see she’s not here, right?”
“When exactly were you going to tell me you’re making your relationship even more permanent while texting me all kinds of crazy things? Tessa told me you’re asking her to move in with you.”
Whoa! She clearly had her timing mixed up. “Riles, I think you have the story all wrong. Come on,” I motioned toward the empty dock. We could sit and talk, far enough away from Marcus, without him thinking it was anything but two friends chatting. “I can explain, if you’ll let me.”
Her expression looked doubtful, but once she let me tell her everything, she’d understand. “Fine,” she huffed, walking in front of me. She was wearing a turquoise blue string bikini that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. Her bronzed skin glistened in the scorching afternoon sun from the lotion I’d seen her apply earlier on. I couldn’t stop staring at her ass as it swayed perfectly, finally stopping at the end of the dock and taking a seat. She dangled her legs over the planks and dipped her feet in the cool water.
“Sit. Explain. I feel like an idiot,” she admitted. Even angry, this girl made me want to smile.
I kicked off my Converse, took a seat next to her, and dunked my own feet in the refreshing lake. “This is nice.” I hummed, discreetly tracing a finger along her thigh.
“No touching. Just talking.”
“How about talking and touching?” I pressed my luck.
“Come on, B. What’s going on? Are you and Marissa back together? Are you really asking her to move in with you?” Her features softened from angry to upset. I had to clear this up so she could go back to smiling and laughing, the way I liked her best. Oh, and so I could touch her again too.
“To answer your questions respectively, no and yes.”
“Wait, what? She’s moving in with you?”
“No,” I laughed. “I’m sorry. Let me clarify. No, we are not back together, but yes I did ask her to move in with me.” I might be busting her balls, but I wasn’t lying to her.
“Are you serious?” she whisper-screamed. “Why in the hell would you ask your ex-girlfriend to move in with you? Beck, this means we can’t—”
“Calm down,” I inched closer, placing a hand on her beautifully bare shoulder. Her skin was warm from the sun and as soft as I remembered.
She shrugged me off, picking her ass off the wood and scooting further away from me.
I lifted myself up and scooted closer in her direction. “She’s not moving in with me and I asked her before we broke up, Riles. It’s actually one of the reasons we’re on this break in the first place. I don’t think she wants all the things I want—at least not yet.” I didn’t want to talk about all this stuff with her, unless she wanted to hear it. I told her I wouldn’t hurt her, and knowing the way a girl’s mind worked, hearing about an ex was something that caused unnecessary pain.
“Then why would Tessa make it like I should tread lightly with you? Someone’s not telling the truth here.” She wasn’t as pissed as she was before, but I could tell she was still confused.
“Marcus and Tessa are in their own little world, Riles. He didn’t know Marissa and I were on a break until I told him today. Besides, you have some explaining to do yourself.” I arched and eyebrow, placing my hand on my hip like a girl. When she remained silent, I figured she wasn’t picking up on my question. “You told Tessa about us? First your other girlfriend, Fallon, gives me the third degree about our texts and then this? I thought we were keeping this on the DL.” I wasn’t actually annoyed. In fact, I was happy she cared enough about our situation to tell her friends about me. It meant a whole shit load of things—good things. But if she had questions, so did I.
“Okay, you got me there. But you can’t expect me to keep completely quiet about all this, B.” She hid her eyes with her hands, finally admitting, “I might’ve spontaneously combusted if I didn’t tell someone.”
I laughed at how adorable she was, but then grew serious. “You don’t think she’ll tell Marcus, do you?” It was my only concern. Not that I was afraid to tell him—I would, when the time was right—but things were so new and unclear between us yet. I didn’t want to rush into telling him when it might only cause awkwardness and hard feelings—for everyone. Besides, it was none of his business right now. We were adults. We could do whatever we wanted with each other, for each other, to each other.
Staring out at the lake where a group of teenagers tubed recklessly off the back of their boat, she seemed to ponder her answer. “No, we can trust her. And considering she still thought you were with Marissa until just a few hours ago . . . she won’t let Marcus think you’re cheating on your girlfriend with me. As much as he didn’t exactly love Marissa, he does love me and being some guy’s mistress is not exactly something he’d take lightly.”
“Is she against us being together? Not that she should really have a say, considering she snuck around with Marcus for God knows how long, but I’m curious about her take on this.” I’d like to know that at least one person was rooting for us on some level.
“Like any friend, she’s skeptical because of the whole ‘break’ thing and she doesn’t want to see me get hurt, but—” She brought her attention back to me, staring at my lips and biting her own nervously. I could tell she was holding back. I didn’t want her to.
“Just say it. But what?”
“Beck, I know we’re nothing and I’m not asking for any kind of commitment, but I don’t make a habit of sleeping with more than one guy at a time. I don’t expect you to—” I lifted a finger to her lips, shushing her.
“Would you please stop saying we’re nothing. I know it’s been like three minutes and things are not—I don’t know, ‘the norm’—but we’re definitely something and I want to give us a shot. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you, Riles.”
Her eyes lit up at my admission. Hell, my stomach dropped and I felt my heart rate pick up when I said it. This was all so fucking crazy and fast. I never expected to feel something for another girl two seconds after breaking up with another. Shit, I never expected another girl to be Riley Grayson. But what came as the biggest surprise was that I wasn’t upset any longer about not being with Marissa. Not because Riley was a replacement, but because Riley was an incredible person. I was getting to know her on a whole different level, and the more time I spent with her, the more I liked her. And the more I liked her, the more I realized I wanted to see where this would go.
Looking past me, toward the house to make sure no one was watching, she inched closer to me and gave me a soft peck on the cheek.
“What was that for?” I asked, loving the feel of her lips on me again.
“For being you. For making me feel like I’m not insane for feeling all these things about you too. I’m sorry; I jumped to conclusions and got all jealous for no reason.”
Tapping her on the nose, I said, “I like jealous Riley.”
“Oh, do you?” She smirked.
“So far there’s not one side of you I don’t like, Riles. What are we going to do about that?” This was going far beyond flirtatious fun and I really didn’t care.
“God,” she moaned, letting her head fall back. “Why do we have to be here right now? Can’t all these people disappear?”
I felt her frustration. I wanted nothing more than to pull her into the lake with me and swim off to have my way with her. But we were surrounded by people who wouldn’t understand the situation. If we gave in to what we wanted to do to each other right now, it would only come off as a random hookup. I didn’t want people judging either of us without knowing the truth.
“I’ll tell ya what.” I had a plan.
“Go ahead,” she smiled, swirling her feet in the lake and making ripples spread across the smooth water.
“Marcus is already pretty intoxicated. If he keeps up this pace, he’ll be passed out and comatose before the fireworks even go off.”
“Continue,” she said, her grin growing wider.
“Once he’s asleep for the night and all the rest of the guests are gone, I’ll sneak into your room and we can have some fun of our own. Sound like a plan?”
Biting her lip and clapping her hands, she butt-danced. “The perfect plan. So perfect I want to break out in song. Caberet ohhhh…even though Marcus has no clue, we’re still getting our groove on!”
Putting my arm around her shoulders and bringing her close, I kissed her on the top of her head and laughed. “That fucking song. I have to admit it’s growing on me.”
“Good, because I’m just getting started. Caba—”
“Don’t make me shut you up with a big wet kiss. If people haven’t noticed the touchy feely-ness, they’ll be sure to notice my tongue down your throat.”
“Oh, Marcus!!” She called out, standing up. “Let’s go do some shots.” Looking down at me, she extended her hand to help me up. “Come on, let’s get him good and zonked. I want your tongue down my throat.”

Blog Tour: Breaking Free by Alexis Noelle

~ Synopsis ~

Holly James is trying to move on with her life, but it’s not easy. She can’t stand to be touched by anyone, not even her own family. She is a lost broken shell of the person that she used to be. She realizes that shutting everyone out is much easier then opening up and letting someone hurt her.

Drew Walker is no prince charming. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself and has no intention of changing. He loves the life of excitement and entitlement that comes with being the lead singer of a band, and has no plans to get tied down anytime soon.

When these two meet there is an immediate chemistry. The thing that surprises Holly is that she can tolerate his touch. He makes her feel like herself once again and gives her the freedom and comfort she has been desperate to find. On the other hand he is self-centered, egotistical, and everything that she should stay away from.

What happens when the one person who can save you might also be the person who can break you?

There was something about Drew, but I had no idea what it was. He was self-centered, cocky, and definitely not prince charming. Maybe that’s why I liked him though. Maybe I didn’t want to be saved by the handsome prince. Maybe I wanted to be corrupted by the evil king.”

**Breaking Free is for mature audiences only—strong language, and explicit sexual content are apparent.**

I have been waiting for Holly's story ever since reading book 1 in the Guarded Hearts trilogy.

Holly is an amazing girl who needed to find her HEA.  She was desperate to have what her brother and her friends had.  She wasn't so smart about it and got burned.  She is now living with the consequences of that.  She doesn't like anyone touching her and she is depressed.  She is out at a concert and meets someone who doesn't make her skin crawl when he touches her, but she can't trust herself so she runs.   But she can't run far because he is the lead singer of the band.  She is determined to stay away, but it's hard when he is the only one who can make her feel normal after her situation.  Can she find happiness?

Drew is a cocky manwhore.   He is determined to win Holly over.  He wants her and he isn't above using his ways to get her to succumb to him.  But what he doesn't realize is that she comes with a bucket load of issues.   Can he help her? Or will he run away?

I really enjoyed this book.  I found it was really short and needed more in places.  I needed more to happen in this book.  I need more answers.  I do love these books by Alexis Noelle and will continue reading her books!!!

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Finger Bang by Jade C. Jamison

~ Synopsis ~

Orgasmic Meditation? Therapeutic?! Kaylee Baker is horrified when her girlfriends suggest a trip to artsy Boulder, Colorado, to check out the latest craze. What her friends don’t know about Kaylee is that she is a little repressed, bordering on frigid, and the idea of a complete stranger bringing her to orgasm--therapeutic or not--is horrifying.

Blaze Donahue has admired Kaylee from afar for quite some time, and part of the reason he’s kept his distance is because he’s had no indication that she might even be interested. But when he’s given the opportunity to offer her his own version of OM with no strings attached, he makes an offer she has a hard time refusing.

When there are undeniable sparks between the two, Kaylee runs, afraid of the overwhelming feelings she has for this gorgeous, sensitive guy. Blaze feels compelled to convince her otherwise but wonders if he’ll be able to crack through the ice surrounding this sweet girl. Can they find true love or will it just be a one-time O?

~ Review ~
4 Stars

This book was good.  I really enjoyed the relationships in this book.  The close bond between all the girlfriends and Blaze.

Kaylee is a shy girl.  Always has been due to the environment she was raised in.  Although she wasn't a virgin she thought anything sexual was wrong unless you were married. Her friends were all very open about it, but Kaylee thought talking about it was wrong.  So when Rachel suggested they all go try our Orgasmic Meditation Kaylee didn't know how to respond.  She wanted to say no, but was shocked to find out she wanted to know about it.  She was also worried about it being a stranger so she said no.  How is it that she comes to have feelings for Blaze?

Blaze is the bad boy that isn't really a bad boy.  He isn't a manwhore that treats woman like crap.  He is sweet and very caring.  He has liked Kaylee for a couple years now, but never thought he had a chance to be with her.  She always seemed like an ice queen.  That is until he finally gets her alone and teaches her some amazing things.  He doesn't want to lose Kaylee, but he's afraid he will push her too far.  Do they find a happy medium? Or does he push her too far?

This book was angst free which was nice.  I liked how there wasn't added drama to make the book better.  It's nice to read a good book without it.  I have to give this book four stars because I felt it was rushed at the end.  And it just ended and I needed more.  What happens with them?

4.5 Stars

OMG I have been looking forward to this book since reading Capturing Peace.  I needed to know more about Kamryn and why Brody stuck with his wife Olivia.

Kamryn is tired of the life she is forced to live.  She doesn't want to be someone's property.  She wants people to like and love her for who she is not her name.  Once she finds out the guy she has been with for the last six years is going to propose she runs.  There is no way she can marry that cheating a**, but she knows her parents won't let her say no. She is finally living her dream.  She has her own bakery and is happy.  That is until she runs into Brody.  Her body wants him and he is the one person she can't have.  He is married.  It doesn't matter that he isn't happy.  She tries to stay away from him, but their connection is so strong it is hard to resist the pull.  Can she stay away?  Or will she become the 'Other Woman'?

Brody thinks he deserves the life he is living.  He doesn't care what his family says about Olivia.  He doesn't believe he deserves happiness and if staying with Olivia kills him slowly day by day so be it.  He hasn't smiled or been happy in five years until he meets Kamryn. There is something about her that makes him want to start fighting for his happiness.  But Olivia is still holding him back.  He doesn't want her to do something stupid, but she won't let him help her either.  What does he do?  Give up on the woman he thinks he owes?  Or finally go after his own happiness?

This book is amazballs!!  I loved all the characters and even wanted to jump into the book to B***h slap Olivia.   I feel like there was unfinished business at the end.  I need answers to a couple more things that had happened.  I wouldn't mind to know more about Kinslee and Jace!!

I wasn't really sure how I was going to like this book starting out.  I was thinking Lark might be a like Jeff and I had a hard time with Jeff. Lark is nothing like Jeff and I he is a close second to Josh.

Azurdee wants Lark from the moment she lays eyes on him.  Something about him makes her feel things she has never felt before.  She knows that giving into him can and most likely will lead to heartache.  She is willing to risk it because what they could have would be better than nothing at all.  Will she handle his secretive job?  And can she make Lark a one woman man?

Lark hasn't opened his heart to a girl since his first girlfriend Nikki.  After her he changed and lived life on the edge.  He didn't care about living or dying.  He just wanted the thrill.  He didn't care where he went as long as there were easy woman and he could get his fill.  The moment he met Azurdee he knew his life was about to change. He wanted her, but she brought out feelings in him that scared him.  He ran from her for almost a year. Until he was forced to be around her for their best friends Scott and Jessie's wedding.
Is he ready to settle with one woman?  Can he handle be so secretive with his job?

This was an amazing book and I loved it!! Azurdee was an amazing character and she was strong.  She didn't let anyone mistreat her and I loved that about her.
I am happy this is a new series and cannot wait for Tristan's book even though he is going to be hard to read.

~ Excerpt ~

"Hello? Jessie?”

“What did you just ask me?” she said.

I chuckled. “After your first time. Were you sore?”

Then she screamed. Right in my ear. “Azurdee! You and Lark? Oh. My. God. Was it good? I mean, I know it hurts at first, but after that? How many times did y’all? Was he sweet to you? That bastard better have been sweet to you! Was it hot? Oh my God, tell me everything!”

I laughed as I made my way downstairs. I saw about a half dozen people out back cleaning up the rest of the reception. Tables and chairs were being taken down and placed into a trailer.

“Azurdee!”

“Oh, sorry. I was watching them take down the rest of the things from the reception.”
She let out a long sigh and said, “Azurdee, spill it.”

I moved into the living room and sat down on the sofa. “Oh Jessie, it was amazing. He was amazing. He kept calling me mi amor! It melted my heart every time he said it. He was sweet, passionate, and so gentle. It was beyond anything I had ever dreamed.”
She let out the silliest little yelp. “I knew Lark Williams had it in him.

He just needed to find the right girl.”

My stomach dipped a little and my smile faded a bit. “Well, I’m not sure if I’m the right girl or even the girl.”

“Wait. Was this a one-time thing? Please tell me you didn’t agree to him taking your virginity and walking away!”

“No. We both agreed that we would be exclusive, but I have a feeling this is the first time he has been exclusive since…well since…” Why couldn’t I say her name?

“Nikki?” Jessie asked.

“Yes. Jessie, why do I feel like I’m in competition with someone who passed away years ago? I can’t shake this feeling that he was comparing me to her.”

She let out a breath and said, “Pesh. Nonsense, Azurdee. He would never do that. I’m sure it was probably just very powerful for him. I mean, by his own admission he has said he has no intentions of ever…”

Her voice trailed off and I knew she was regretting what she had just said. “Jessie, I knew how Lark was and how he thought when I got into this. I know he could walk away at any given moment.”

I silently prayed that would never happen, but deep down inside I knew it was a strong possibility.

“He won’t walk away, sweetie. I see the way he looks at you. I think you are the game changer he’s been waiting for.”

I bit down on my fingernail and began chewing it. “Maybe. I don’t want to get my hopes up, ya know?”

“So tell me…are you sore?” she asked with a giggle.

I felt like a teenager in high school. “Let’s just say he told me he was going to make it so I would think about him every time I moved…for a few days.”
Jessie let out a gasp and began laughing. “Oh my.”

I dropped my head back onto the sofa and said, “Jessie…he is amazing. I mean…the way he can be so sweet and then so dirty. Oh God. He had me going insane with lust for him.”

“The sweet part surprises me, but not the dirty,” she said with a laugh. I laughed in return and said, “Four times.”

“Four times! Look at the stamina Mr. Williams has!”

We both lost it in a laughing fit. “Jesus, Azurdee. No wonder you’re sore.”

“Bed twice, bathtub once, and then the shower,” I said in an almost whisper.

Blog Tour: Five Ways to Fall by KA Tucker

~ Synopsis ~

Sometimes you can’t change—and sometimes you just don’t want to. Discover Ben’s side of the story in this fourth novel by the beloved, top-selling indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths,One Tiny Lie, and Four Seconds to Lose.

Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she’s made plenty of them in her twenty-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it’s time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.

Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris’s plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny’s Palace, he’s ready to lead a more mature life—until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn’t stopped thinking about.

If Ben truly were a smart guy, he’d stay clear of Reese. She’s the boss’s stepdaughter and it’s been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she’s trouble. The only problem is, he likes trouble, especially when it’s so good-looking…

5 Stars by Guest Reviewer Cybill

I absolutely fell in love with Reese! She is a feisty, sarcastic no nonsense kind of woman. Not many men can handle this kind of woman, but the challenge is just what Ben needs.

Reese MacKay has been searching for love in some form her whole life. Left at 5 years old in a truck stop by her dad and having a mother that should have never had a child has left her heart empty. She married Jared thinking he was the love of her life until she found him in their apartment in the shower with his ex girlfriend Caroline. After a rampage with red paint she found herself needing legal representation. The one father figure she had was Jack, the husband her mother threw away. He offers her a second chance, or with Reese it would be the tenth chance. Become a paralegal and come work in his law office in Miami. One last hurrah in Cancun she wants to exorcise the demons with a one night stand, enter Ben Morris.

Ben Morris is currently a bouncer in a strip club, former football hopeful until a blown knee ruins his chances for anything professional. Celebrating graduating law school in Cancun. He is strangely drawn to the hot girl with purple hair. It's his last night and last fling. Mr. Jose Cuervo has different plans, when Reese drinks way to much and succumbs to every drunk woman's nightmare.

What are the chances these two would cross paths again? Ben is friend's with Jack's son Mason and has just started a new career with Jack's law firm. The same law firm Reese is a paralegal for.

Neither of Reese or Ben are interested in a committed relationship and office policy state "no dating" but friends with benefits is surely a possibility!

Jared comes back into the picture and let me tell you this kind is a real piece of crap. He want Reese back but after spending time with Ben and his family Reese is ready for something better. Between Jared and silicone enhanced strippers will these two ever see that they are perfect for each other?

Funny, witty, sarcastic and wonderful. This is a great read!

And don’t forget the rest of the Ten Tiny Breaths Series…
