~ Synopsis ~
Everyone makes mistakes in life. Unfortunately, Holly Richards has become an expert at taking the wrong path in life. This time, she may have gone so far that she has alienated the one person who has always been there for her. Will she be able to make the right decision for once in her life?
Tommy Reed's world shifted the night he found Holly Richards lying in a pool of blood on the ground. For reasons he can't explain, he feels the need to protect Holly from her own past. In the process, he's hoping to also teach her that there is more to a D/s than releasing pent up emotions.
Life isn't easy for the former-junkie and the cop. Some of those closest to Tommy are less than thrilled with his devotion to Holly. Those who pressured Holly into her former life are worried she'll share what she knows. Is there any way for both of them to come away from the situation unscathed?

I really enjoyed this book. It is book two and left off right where book one ended. It was about Tommy and Holly though.
Holly is trying to figure out if life is worth living after betraying her best friend and almost dying. She wakes up in the hospital with no where to go. She knows she needs treatment, but hates asking for help. She is also shocked to see Tommy by her bedside considering he doesn't really know her. Will she get the help she needs to stay clean? Will she get the forgiveness from her friend? Will she forgive herself so she can really move on?
Tommy is trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. He always wanted to be a cop, but has been reconsidering lately. Now, since he is on administrative leave after a shooting he is really considering leaving the force. He has plenty of time to think while he sits waiting for Holly to wake from her coma. He doesn't know why he has this strange connection to Holly, because he hardly knows her. Can he work through his issues? Will he have a helping hand in helping Holly?
This book is a soft emotional BDSM book. Focusing on the softer side and emotional side of the D/s relationship. I really like this series and it is a must read. Unexpected Angel is about Dylan and Tasha, but have Tommy, Holly and Zeke in a lot of it. Sloan Johnson has done an amazing job with these books!!
