Interview: Author Erin Noelle

We had the pleasure of being able to sit down and chat with Erin Noelle author of Metamorphosis and Ambrosia, which is due out in June 2013.

What made you want to become an author?

I never set out to become an author exactly. I originally wrote Metamorphosis for the ladies in my book club. When I first started it I thought it would be a short story or novella, but once I started writing, the story just kept developing inside my head and I ran with it. Once I was finished, with the help and encouragement of Nicole Reed, I decided to self-publish it online.

Are there any authors inspire you?

There are really so many that I hate to even list any. As I mentioned earlier, Nicole Reed was the driving force behind me while I was writing and seeing her success with self-publishing Ruining Me and Ruining You was a huge inspiration.

Are you surprised by the overall reaction to your work?

Surprised would be a serious understatement. I never in my wildest dreams expected any of this, but I love the people that it has introduced me to. I have met some amazing new friends all thanks to this book.

Where do you do most of your writing?

I do all of my writing in my bed, late at night.

How do you so to put yourself in a mood to write?

Music! Music is huge in my inspiration/ mood setting.

Are you Team Ash, Mason or undecided?

I am both Team Ash and Team Mason; however, I am not undecided. I will never decide between the two, they are both my babies. They each deserve a HEA.

What was your favorite scene to write in Meta and why?

The last chapter/ epilogue was definitely my favorite part.

How did you come up with the characters and what was

 your inspiration for them?

Ooh this may get a little lengthy; I'll try to keep it short.
Scarlett ~ named after my granny's favorite book/ movie lead character; she was my response to the
numerous books I had read with the "virgin girl and the magic vagina;" Scarlett was a virgin by force not choice, she isn't easily offended and she isn't overly whiny (key word is overly), and she makes mistakes just like everyone else.
Evie ~ the best friend that every girl needs by her side.
The guys ~ of course each of the guys were to represent a book boyfriend sub-group.
Dylan ~ named by my sister, All-American college boy, pretty selfish shallow character.
Ash ~ the hippie surfer/ deep thinker; represents the cerebral part of love; he is brilliantly smart and
recognizes the consequences of love gone bad.
Mason ~ the bad boy rocker; represents the physical component of love; he shows his love through touch, but like all of our favorite BBs, he has past demons of his own.

Which character did you have the most fun writing?

Evie, for sure. I loved her spunky attitude and huge heart.

Did you cry when you wrote Evie's scene?

Yeah, I did... a lot because she was my favorite character. It's one of the reasons I didn't make it longer than I did.

Is Ambrosia the last in this series?

No, I think there will be two more books in the series. However, this will end Scarlett's story. Whoever Scarlett doesn't end up with will get book three and book four is for Max.

In Ambrosia, are you going to tell us what Ash and Mason

went through while Scarlett was gone?

Yes, quite a bit happened during the time she was gone that is going to affect their future relationships.

What made you decide to write Ambrosia from Ash, Mason

 and Scarlett's POV?

I personally love reading dual POVs in a book. I haven't ever read one from three different POVs, but I know there are a few. I feel like offering all three POVs really gives great insight and allows the readers to connect more with all of the characters.

Do you prefer writing female POV's or male POV's?

I think I may enjoy writing the guys POV more because it's the only time I get to control what a male says and does! No, seriously, I like both ~ I think writing the guys POV is a little more fun because you can be kind of rough around the edges and I get to cuss a lot :)

Do you know who Scar is going to pick? Or does it keep

 changing?

Yes, I know who she is going to end up with in this book, but I thought I knew the end of the first book too and that all changed for me... so anything can happen!

Thank you Erin for your support and time!!!!!

Review: Falling Into You by Jasina Wilder

5 Star Review by Heather

I wasn't always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.

Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.Colton didn't teach me how to live. He didn't heal the pain. He didn't make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.

“Strength is learning to live despite the pain”

This book draws you in from the beginning and takes you on an emotional rollercoaster.

Kyle and Nell have been best friends their whole lives. Kyle starts wanting more, but doesn't want to ruin his friendship. So one day he decides to kiss her! That kiss changes it all. They go from just best friends to dating. Their parents are worried at first. They don't want their friendship to be ruined. They tell them it will all work out. Then two years later they want to go out of town for the weekend alone. Since they are both 18 the parents agree to let them go. This is where their lives are forever changed.

"I wanted nothing more than to climb into that box with him and quit breathing, find him in whatever came after life."-Nell

Nell doesn't do so well after the funeral. She still blames herself for his death. She runs out of the building crying. This is how Colton finds her. He doesn't know what to say, but he understands her pain. He may not have been close with his brother, but he loved him. He decides to help Nell out and escape form her parents. He takes her to the cemetery and then when she runs away from there he is the person who decides to run with her knowing that she needs this. He doesn't try to stop her and make her get in a car. Later that night she sneaks out and hears Colton playing his guitar and goes to see what is up. They proceed to try and drink their sorrow away.

Nell goes to NYC to get out of town. Here is where she runs into Colton for the first time since that night. She tries to not have feelings for him, but she can't help what she feels. She still lives with the belief that she is to blame for Kyle's death. She harbors so much guilt that she doesn't really live. Through Colton she learns how to let go of the guilt and learn that she is still alive and that her life is worth living. It may be difficult, but it eventually will become easier. She learns that she will never forget Kyle, but she needs to remember the good.

Go along for this journey of Nell's heartache and growth.

I gave this book 5 stars and would definitely recommend as a great read. Jasinda Wilder what an AMAZING book! Definitely in my top 5 of the year!!!!

Can't wait to read Falling Into Us!!!

“I'm falling into you. You're an ocean, and I'm falling in, drowning in the depths of who you are.” Colton

Strangers show up and claim to be her parents, but she can't remember them. She can't remember anyone. Not her friends, not even her boyfriend. Her boyfriend breaks up with the new girl he's dating to be with her, her parents want her to start planning for college, her friends want their leader back, and her physical therapist with the hazel eyes keeps his distance to save his position at the hospital.

“The things we should focus on in any life shouldn’t be what we’ve lost, but what we’ve gained” – Shelly Crane, Wide Awake

No one knows you better than you know yourself! Well that is not the case in this book. Emma Walker was involved in a hit and run accident that lands her in a coma. When she finally wakes up six months later she realizes that she has no idea who anyone is, including herself. She struggles to get her life back in order, while dealing with the pressure of learning who she used to be and who she wants to be now.

Before the accident Emma was the queen bee of her school. She was captain of the cheerleading squad who hung out with all the popular kids and even dated a football player, Andy. After the accident nothing seemed right she hated cheerleading, her friends were all stuck up and she didn’t even have feelings for Andy.

Emma even began falling for her hot physical therapist, Mason. Mason has his own secrets and issues, but what fun would that be if I told you what they were? This book is a fantastic read, so get to it and start reading. This book gets 4 stars.

Review: Rule by Jay Crownover

I had loved Rule Archer since the first moment I ever laid eyes on him. He was everything I shouldn't want and the only person I went out of my way to not try and please. He only saw me as a brat, and an entitled, stuck up princess but worse than that all he saw when he looked at me was his deceased twin's girl. It broke my heart because as much as I had loved Remy Archer there was never anything romantic between us and no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that loving Rule was a terrible idea, my poor heart just wouldn't listen. We tolerated each other, barely and had forged an uneasy alliance until one night I had too much to drink and changed the way we were forever. Suddenly life long secrets were no longer hidden and the one thing I always wanted for myself seemed obtainable as long as I was willing to go through hell to hold onto it.

Shaw Landon was a class act and I had no idea what to do with her. She was tied to my family, tied to the person that was my other half so I tolerated her and her haughty attitude when I didn't have any other choice. What I didn't know was that a short skirt and too many cocktails on her birthday was going to change my outlook on her for the rest of my life. Some people thought I hid behind all my tattoos and piercings, that I tried to distance myself from my dead twin, Shaw saw through it all and wasn't scared of what was underneath. We weren't supposed to be together, weren't supposed to be anything but uncomfortable acquaintances but that all changed in the blink of an eye. Now I had to figure out just how a girl like her and a guy like me were supposed to be in love without destroying each other. Add in her custom made ex and two disapproving sets of parents and the whole situation sounded like it was more trouble then it was worth.

“It’s always been you even when I didn’t want it to be, even when it broke my heart over and over again. It’s just always been you.” – Jay Crownover, Rule

Rule Archer is the definition of a bad boy; he is a pierced womanizing tattoo god, who makes no excuse for his behavior and lifestyle. He lives his life the way he wants to and if you don’t like it that is your problem. After the tragic death of his twin brother, Remy, his family begins to fall apart. His parents hate his appearance, his life choices and anything else they can think of. With his older brother being deployed the only buffer in the family is his twin brother’s friend, Shaw Landon. Rule has never seen Shaw as anything but his twin brother’s girl and has never even given her a second thought that is until one night changes everything.

Shaw Landon comes from a rich family, who has her life planned out for her. Her parents want her to live the American dream; be rich, successful, married, have 2.5 kids, and live in a house with a white picket fence. The problem with that is Shaw wants the one thing she has been obsessing over for the past 7 years, Rule Archer. The problem is how can she make Rule see her for who she really is, without betraying the secret Remy took to his grave.

I adored Shaw and fell in love with Rule. There is just something about a man with tattoos that just does it for me. This story drew me in and would not let me go. I could not put it down, and days after I read it I was still thinking about it. I give it 4.5 stars.

When she was eight, Allison Starr began spending her summers with her aunt in San Diego. Nearly ten years later she is focused on her last year of high school and which colleges to apply to, not the attractive surfer who keeps showing up at the little corner of beach where she reads. She has no interest in a romantic relationship, especially one that starts in the summer and would be long distance. Ali tries to ignore him, but finds the boy on the beach much more distracting than the words in her books. Cooper Perez has never surfed the same beach this many days in a row. He just can’t seem to change spots until he has the courage to talk to the girl who is always reading her books in the shade. When he finally approaches her he is overwhelmed with the instant attraction he feels for this beautiful and intelligent girl, even though she is three years younger. Cooper and Allison spend the rest of the summer together discovering their love of many things, including each other. Summer eventually comes to an end, but their love does not. Allison heads home to start her senior year, but an opportunity brings Cooper closer to Allison than either of them would have expected. Mr. Perez is the new English teacher at Allison’s high school.

Allison Starr just wants to spend her summer vacation reading at the beach, but is finding it hard to concentrate when a hot surfer keeps showing up day after day.

Cooper Perez can’t stop watching Allison from afar, but lacks the courage to approach her. Finally he builds up the confidence to strike up a conversation with Ali, and he realizes that they instantly have a connection. They spend the rest of the summer getting to know each other and begin a relationship despite the distance and 3 year age difference.

When the summer ends and Ali goes back to school she is shocked to discover her new teacher is… Cooper. Things become more than complicated, and life throws a huge obstacle their way.

In this book you learn that sometimes love can really conquer all, including death. This book was good. It is very short only took me 3 hours to read, and that is with some breaks. So if you are looking for a quick read this book is for you. I give this book 3.5 stars.

What do you do when the one you love, is also the one who has caused you the most pain?

I adore this author and highly recommend her to everyone! Abbi Glines has struck gold again with this book and it is probably one of my favorite books by her, and that is saying a lot. This book will make you laugh, cry and get angry enough to throw your kindle against a wall. I give it a big fat 5 stars. This book is followed by Never Too Far.

Eighteen year old Jay Stevenson is living a horrible nightmare.

Two years ago, she had the world in the palm of her hand, but in one moment, it was ruined. Secrets, lies, and the worst imaginable betrayal haunt her new reality. Burying her problems under a cold façade seems to be the only way to cope until it all catches up with her. Soon, she loses control of the lonely world she built around her, and the past, present, and future collide.

Three guys are there when it all comes crashing down: JT, the perfect boyfriend she never wanted to give up; Rhye, the local bad boy “rock star” who made her forget the past; and Kane, the funny and sweet tattooed bartender who wants her future.

Secrets must be kept. Choices must be made. Is it possible to move forward while still chained to the wicked vices of the past?

I hate the saying, “The truth can set you free”. The truth can't set me free. It can f*ck my future fifty ways to Sunday.

This book is emotional and full of angst. I was sucked into this book within the first few pages and couldn't be bothered to come up for air. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to give away any spoilers. If you enjoy a good love triangle and a book that keeps you on your toes with all the twists and turns, then Ruin Me is a must read! You get just enough of the past through dreams that help you piece together what Jay is going through and made her close herself off to her friends and family. I would definitely recommend this book. Now that book 2 is out I would jump right into book it. Don't wait! Amazing job Nicole Reed!

Review: Metamorphosis by Erin Noelle

5 Star Review by Annie

Scarlett MacGregor has lived a very sheltered life courtesy of her over-the-top controlling parents. Having never been to a co-ed party, much less on a date, Scarlett has relied on her books, her music, and living vicariously through her best friend Evie to keep her sanity as she's patiently awaited her freedom from their rule.

When Scarlett and Evie go away to college, Scarlett quickly meets Ashton, Dylan, and later, Mason, and is thrown into a crash course of like, love, and lust. With Evie's help, she must figure out the difference in the three and which one she wants before she ends up without any of them.

Metamorphosis is the story of Scarlett's transformation from a young, naive girl to a strong, mature young woman and her search for self-discovery and true love. Scarlett is finally free from the clutches of her overbearing parents when her childhood best friend, Evie, and her go off together to college. Evie has always been there for Scarlett when no one else has, well except all the hot guys in the books that they read about. Scarlett has to learn how to live life independently, as well as experience the things that normal college students have already done; like going to her first party, having her first real boyfriend and yes even her first sexual experiences. So when Scarlett and Evie come up with a game to find guys that represents their different book boyfriends it seems like the best idea ever. That is until she meets two completely different guys, that both capture different parts of her heart. What great book isn’t complete without a sexy love triangle? On one hand she has Ash, the typical suffer boy/college student who is a major player. Ash and Scarlett are drawn to each other right away, but the problem is they cannot get past the friend zone. On the other hand there is Mason a hot rocker with tons of tattoos and piercings. Scarlett is completely comfortable with him and is instantly sexually attracted to him. Then all of a sudden life throws Scarlett a curve ball and she has to learn to cope with it all by herself.

This book has everyone debating on whether they are Team Ash or Team Mason! If you haven’t read it yet, give it a try and pick your team. I absolutely love this book and I highly recommend it. Ambrosia is the second book in the series and is expected to be released sometime in June. I give this book 5 stars.

Temporary. That one single word best describes my life these last few years. I'm working at a temporary job until I can finally break free. I'm my little brother's temporary mother since our mom doesn't give a crap about either of us. And I'm that temporary girl all the guys want to get with because I give it up so easily. According to the rumors, at least.

But now I'm the temporary girlfriend of Drew Callahan, college football legend and all around golden guy. He's beautiful, sweet--and he's hiding way more secrets than I am. He's brought me into this fake life where everyone seems to hate me. And everyone seems to want something from him. The only thing he seems to want though is...

Me.

I don't know what to believe anymore. All I know is, I think Drew needs me. And I want to be there for him.

Forever.

“Text me marshmallow, wherever I’m at, I’ll come running.” –Fable, One Week Girlfriend

Drew and Fable are probably one of my all-time favorite couples. This book is one that will keep you reading from start to finish without once putting it down.

Fable is trying to make a life for herself and her little brother, working hard to make money to help her family out financial. She has a bad reputation for being loose, but that is furthest from the truth. Drew walks into her life and makes her an offer she can’t refuse, a large sum of money for a week of her time pretending to be someone and something she is not. How hard could that really be? When she accepts the arrangement and travels home with Drew she realizes he has major skeletons in his closet. The deal becomes more than what it was supposed to be; Drew wants more than just a pretend girlfriend, and Fable just wants to be the one who saves Drew from his secrets.

This is the first book in a series; Second Chance Boyfriend is the continuation of Drew and Fable’s story.  Monica Murphy is a brilliant writer and this is a must read book. I easily give it 5 stars.

Lost. That one single word best describes my life at this very moment. I lost the last games of the season and both my team and my coach blame me. I lost the last two months because I drowned in my own despair like a complete loser. And I lost the only girl who ever mattered because I was afraid being with me would destroy her.

But now I realize how truly lost I am without her. She has become my story…and even though she acts like she’s moved on, I know she still thinks about me just as much as I think about her. She’s beautiful, sweet—and so damn vulnerable, all I want to do is help her. Be there for her.

Love her…

If only I could convince Fable to give me a second chance. Then I wouldn’t feel so lost anymore, and neither would she. We could be found together.

This is the continuation of One Week Girlfriend. If you haven't read that go do it! It was an amazing book. Drew and Fable are one of my faves!!!

Sometimes in life you need a second chance. Whether it is a second chance at love, life and even at rebuilding broken relationships.

Second Chance Boyfriend takes place two months after Drew just upped and walked out of Fable’s life leaving nothing behind but a letter and a broken heart.

Fable is finally getting her life back in order after hurricane Drew came crashing in. When the owner, Colin, of the new swanky club in town walks into the dive bar and offers Fable a job she takes it. This could give her the chance to earn more money and provide a better future for her brother, Owen.

Drew is trying to move on past the one girl he loved more than anyone else, Fable. Drew has even seeked out the help of a therapist to deal with his demons and his lack of coping skills; he is tired of shutting people out, especially Fable.

It had been two long and agonizing months since they had even seen or spoken to each other, but fate had other plans thrusting them back together. At first they were both unsure of each other and where their relationship stood, but that all changes with one text, MARSHMELLOW. Life picked up just where it had left off and they couldn’t resist the undeniable attraction to be with each other. Of course they had to get through all the obstacles of dealing with all their old demons, and even some new ones.

I absolutely loved the first book, but the second one was even better. Monica Murphy did not let us down. Drew was even more likable then before, and if you didn’t love him enough already from the first time around the second one will make you fall even harder. Fable again showed us how strong of a woman she really is, and I love that she embodies strength and willpower. Plus it never hurts to throw a fun sexy game of strip true confessions in the mix. I think we definitely need another book, and maybe Owen should get one too. I give it 4.5 stars.
